B&I Lions squad:

14 Jack Nowell β Exeter Chiefs, England, #828
13 Jared Payne β Ulster, Ireland, #830
12 Robbie Henshaw β Leinster, Ireland, #824
11 Elliot Daly β Wasps, England, #822
10 Dan Biggar β Ospreys, Wales, #821
9 Greig Laidlaw β Gloucester Rugby, Scotland, #8101 Joe Marler β Harlequins, England, #811
2 Rory Best (c) β Ulster, Ireland, #793
3 Dan Cole β Leicester Tigers, England, #794
4 Iain Henderson β Ulster, Ireland, #808
5 Courtney Lawes β Northampton Saints, England, #826
6 James Haskell β Wasps, England, #823
7 Justin Tipuric β Ospreys, Wales, #786
8 CJ Stander β Munster, Ireland, #831Replacements:
16 Kristian Dacey β Cardiff Blues, Wales
17 Allan Dell β Edinburgh Rugby, Scotland
18 Tomas Francis β Exeter Chiefs, Wales
19 Cory Hill β Newport Gwent Dragons, Wales
20 Alun Wyn Jones β Ospreys, Wales, #761
21 Gareth Davies β Scarlets, Wales
22 Finn Russell β Glasgow Warriors, Scotland
23 Tommy Seymour β Glasgow Warriors, Scotland, #813Interesting that AWJ on bench. Despite all those reinforcements they still can't rest the entire test 23! Joseph looks to be cover for for wing/centre in test 23 with Watson covering fullback.
Only intrigue is whether or not Farrell fit and whether SOB will start or be impact replacement. Owen/AWJ to be finishersHow does Joseph fit in to your Test backline '10'? Doesn't figure in mine. I've got Daly taking that role because I don't see Gatland dropping North even though he should.

I must say I'd have JJ at 13, to add x-factor. Then Te'O as a finisher. But expect Gats to play it straight and go for Farrell/Te'O/Davies, with JJ bench. Still a chance of Daly or L Williams squeezing into a start if either lays down the gauntlet on Tuesday.

http://www.stuff.co.nz/sport/rugby/international/93811804/lions-tour-rory-best-to-captain-second-string-lions-against-chiefs-in-final-match-before-first-test Seems Halfpenny is under some doubt because of head knock.
-
DMac wasn't available for selection due to a neck injury. Rennie said he would have been on the bench otherwise.
I wasn't expecting any of the Maori players bar Elliot to be playing. Like @Nepia I would have started him, but Polwart has played ahead of Hika in recent weeks.
That's the Chiefs forward pack I was expecting to start. We've got 2 green halfbacks though, whereas last year vs Wales, Weber was in the no.9 jersey.
As a comparison this was that starting XV:
- Mitchell Graham (23)
- Rhys Marshall (30)
- Hiroshi Yamashita (7)
- Dominic Bird (5)
- Michael Allardice (17)
- Mitchell Brown*
- Lachlan Boshier (2)
- Tom Sanders (9)
- Brad Weber (36)
- Stephen Donald (87) Captain
- Sam Vaka (3)
- Andrew Horrell (53)
- Anton Lienert-Brown (18)
- Toni Pulu (7)
- James Lowe (31)

So you have a Webb, Sexton, Joseph bench?
If so, two of Daly, Watson, Williams miss out

That's the way it looks. But clear that William or Daly can play their way in tomorrow. BTW am I right that North is usually a right wing: Daly and Williams usually operate on left? If so, a switch to his usual might aid things.

North has been playing 14 / right wing for Wales. Had to check the numbers myself after the MAB match

I'll piss myself if any of the 'Unworthies' have a stormer / score a try / get MOTM π

I'm fucking hoping that Best, Henderson, Haskell and Stander go on a whirlwind followed by Henshaw, Payne and Daly running in six tries with Marler taking the conversions and in the post-game interviews, Best does a straight face in which he says - "well we felt we should show the lads how it should be done for Saturday, and get our side of the job complete, now it's over to them. Isn't that right, Warren?
-
The MABs are really disruptive.
Weaken the teams playing the game before them, and after them.
Really disappointed not to se DMac get another pressure game, but this time at 15. However. Stevenson is a keeper (based on his running game), very interested to see how he goes. I want to see some pin point bombs.
-
Just to confirm, this is tonight right?
Oh, and Warren, if Sir Stephen wants to show and go, there is fuck all you can do about it. Accept it, know your role.

Was talking about the Welsh and Scots brought in over the weekend.
-
@mariner4life yep game is tonight.
-
Scots first five Finn Russell will be over the moon.....fresh from winning MOM in the victory over Oz instead of jetting off for a jaunt in Fiji with his teammates he gets rewarded with a seat on the bench with a bunch of Welsh losers no one has even heard of.
In Hamilton.
Rad.

I was a bit 'meh' at the time of the ballot, but predictably now that the tour has arrived I wish I was there.
Was in the Tron for work this morning before returning to the land of Plenty, and it was one of the few times I've strongly wished I was staying in Hamilton for longer Quite a few Lions supporters wandering around, including a couple bravely travelling in a campervan with a baby.
Reminded me of 12 years ago ahead of the NZ Maori game. I was opening up the changing rooms at Marist to get them ready for the team and a Lions supporter turned up from a nearby campervan, keen to use a shower. He'd had a good night the night before and was looking forward to another one.
Great fun to see all the fans out and about and enjoying themselves. Hoping (though not expecting) the Chiefs ruin the party tonight though
