Entirely marketable. The endorsements will flow in.
Billionaire in the making. No question.
On that front, how utterly tasteless that handing over the winners cheque is part of the ceremony.

My thoughts exactly
Win and the money will take care of itself
American crass

I liked the way the presentation was done with BJK, but the money bit was crass - Wimbledon is much classier in that respect.

Good luck to the boy who wants to ask Hernandez out, her Dad is jacked
I thought I heard the commentators say that was the trainer sitting with her mum and younger sister.

I don't think the dad travelled, even though he is her coach. She mentioned that in an earlier interview

They don't do that at the Aussie, not sure about the French but I'd assume not. Typically American

He's superstitious so doesn't go to her matches.

Who’s going to be the Director of this movie?
What a story
Qualifier to Champion
Call it The Fairytale of New York. 3 months ago she was an A Level student. Never won a WTA tounament before. Only her second major tournament. Never played a top ten player before. Had to go through qualifying. Said her goal at the start of qualifying was to win enough money to replace her lost Air Pods. 4,000-1 outsider. Won the US Open without dropping a set. Last person to do that was Serena Williams in 2014. Unbelievable.
Much better story than that Wimbledon film they made about Peter Holt.

HMRC will be looking forward to 45% of that cheque even though she's 18. It will pay for around two minutes of the NHS.

Most marketable UK sportsperson since Beckham. The endorsements will flow, as might the trophies.
But so will the attention of the worst sections of the UK press and assorted sharks. Hope she has some tough people around her to tell them to f##k off.

A great achievement, there will be massive scrutiny now. The hard part is screening that out, and also tempering expectations. At 18, she might never win another major. Which will be fine because she will still be the first British female in almost 45 years to win a GS title. Managing that situation would be a challenge. I hope that her apparent joy for the game won't be eroded as it appears to have for Osaka

So I assume the UK, Canada, China, Romania, Equador and the Phillipines will all feature the finalists on the front of their national newspapers today and claim something in their DNA or residence...

Couldn't resist posting this Piers Morgan tweet after Emma Raducuna pulled out of Wimbledon...

Sounds like a really balanced girl. Studying uni by correspondence, loves her motorsport, apparently looking forward to a visit to Wall Street while in NYC
