Watched Federer tonight after work. He was gone for all money in the 3rd. Couldn’t run for shots, just sticking his racket out, feet weren’t moving so just throwing the racket at the ball. 4th was all about the mental game. Just making enough points to win service games and tie breaker - 7 match points saved. The commentators said he has never quit a match he has started (not turned up for about 4 or something like that - with injury). Amazing. Then the fifth he started to move and game, set and match. At the end he knew he was lucky Sandgren got the yips. But Federer is still all class at the end of his career. Great respect for Nadal (great guy who is looking good) but still love the grace and beauty of the Fed and his single handed backhand.

That really was a great watch. 7 match points saved and only took him one to win it.
Great interview afterwards too saying he didn't deserve it and assumed he would be skiing the Swiss Alps. Also went on to say that if he plays like that in the semi he definitely will be off skiing.

Wow! I could have been guessing all day and I doubt I would have picked one of them

Who was it?
3 Argentinians and Tim Henman. Two Argentinians that I don't recall in the final. Only Argentinian I remember from the 3 is Nalbanian
Fed was out fourth round to Gustavo Kuerten. He was a French Open specialist if I remember correctly

@Hooroo Coria would be my guess and I mentioned Gaudio earlier in the thread as one of the few that has won a slam outside of the big 3 (and no I wouldn't have got it either).
I think you're are bang on the mark. (Without going back and checking)
That year there was an Argentinian in each of the quarter finals.

Having read that I was advised at the "bottom" of the page to look at this:

She might not be all that good at tennis, but neither was Kournikova and people seemed to like watching her too.

In a devastating day for tennis, Maria Sharapova, one of the hottest players ever, retired today
oh yeah, she won 5 grand slams as well, could play a bit
