surely a rule change needs to be made to stop the cnuts at home from being cnuts at home.
I would suspect the writers of the rules did not anticipate cable tv the internet and social media when they said it was fine for external parties to report infractions

Fox at the Masters: Family join Ryan Fox for emotional trip down iconic Magnolia LaneFox tees off at 4.36am Friday morning NZ time and is grouped with Billy Horschel & Harris English
-
@1kiwi he's paying $151 at TAB, same as Garcia but better than LIV Phil on $201, which seems odd, or not...
Rory clear fave on $7.50, but cant see him taking it.
Outside Fox, I'd love to see Adam Scott win, but he is well down at $101.
I think the winner will be a known player, but not one of the big ones, I just havent decided who yet haha
How good...
-
Solid opening round by Fox at -2, with some good players alongside like Cam Smith, Justin Thomas.
-
Koepka is hitting it so good.
Fox with a solid 2nd round -1, with play suspended he is tied for 18th at -3
Hovland and Rahm still have 9 to play and are 6 and 3 back from Koepka respectively.
I see Norman has said if a LIV player wins the Masters it will make up for his failings there...I call BS.
That is the only thing that would annoy me if Koepka wins, Norman and Mickleson, 2 of the biggest douches in the game IMO.
Alot of the other PGA vs LIV stuff seems more media driven, or like PGA are using a few of thier players to create the LIV villain

Yep. It seems like his finish on any shot is the same. When he was at his best he was money and composed and dominant. Putting well too. Should be a good match up between him and Rahm.
Greg says a lot a stupid shit and nothing will make up for his collapse which was painful and I was hoping he would win. I am with him on the LIV venture and I think it has created some good tension/competition and obviously the PGA changed as a result (purse size and possibly other changes that I am not aware of as don't follow any more).
I like Rahm, as his response to LIV golfers was more understanding unlike Rory who came across as a whiny bitch. Seems like a good guy and he was majorly screwed during Covid at the Memorial. That was ridiculous to not allow someone to play with Covid in an outside environment. How stupid was the thinking behind that decision. But I digress.

@broughie yeah I really dont give a shit about the PGA/LIV BS, and think there is a bit of theatre to it all and Norman the villain, but mostly I just think it is a shame we dont see the likes of Rahm, Koepka, McIlroy, DJ, Smith, Speith competing with one another more regularly.
Certainly not ideal for the sport having some of the best only playing against one another a couple of times a year.
Rain suspended play again.
Koepka with a handy lead at -13 through 6, Rahm and amateur Bennet playing with him at -9 and -6 respectively, gonna be a big ask for Rahm to take it from here, although if anyone can right now, it is him.
Fox at -3 through 13

LIV has definitely changed the PGA, and the players will benefit. I seem to recall the PGA have added lucrative no cut events to their schedule?

They still have to finish off round 3 tonight due to the weather - so there's a heap of holes left.
-
I've got a few bucks on Keopka finishing as the top LIV player so looking good so far.
Would love to see Rahm win it, its going to be a shootout between him & Keopka I think unless someone like Cantlay, Bennett, Morikawa or Hovland shoot an insane round. Alot of golf still to be played though most players facing 30 holes on the final day. -
@1kiwi yeah gonna take something special from someone other than Rahm to take it from Koepka me thinks.
@KiwiMurph yeah I know they have to still complete round 3.
Just when Brooks is making his putts, he will be tough to beat.
Foxy could have a top 10 or 20 if he keeps it up too, be great for him.
-
@JK said in The Masters!:
Foxy is doing just awesome. Hasn’t been great with the big stick off the tee at times and has done some great scrambling. Also some brilliant par 3 tee shots - can put them really really close at times.
Rory eh…why a flop!
Rory probably put too much pressure on himself after talking all that shit about LIV. The guy should be thanking them, seeing as the PGA have upped the ante in the winnings stakes and that never would have happened without LIV
-
@canefan dunno, I just think its just pressure to win the masters for Rory, how he was hitting it in recent weeks, he should have been well under, but I expect it is just the pressure he puts on himself from the get go, Augusta is up there as one of THE courses to win at, similarly winning The Open at St Andrews.
I still think some of the shit being played out in the media is overly theatrical, Rory and Koepka are friends so I dont think that is an issue.

They still live close by in Florida and still practice together. Just a few guys on both sides talking smack, but in reality most of them are probably cool with each other

Well there you have it Jon Rahm came from behind to win the green jacket, his second career major title and a nice paycheck of $3.2 million.
3 LIV golfers finishing in the top 5 who would have predicted that? Mickelson turned back the clock shooting a 7 under 65 to put himself into contention.Ryan Fox finished T-26 at Even par taking home $147,000 for his efforts.
Great final round of 6 under 69 from Jordan Speith to rocket himself up the leaderboard and finish T-4
