@kiwiinmelb Geelong without Hawkins, Selwood and Duncan, all the while not playing well, if the Tigers are legit they should win.
Interested why you obviously think Geelong should move their game to the Tigers home ground?
-
The Suns finally sack Eade. He inherited a shitty culture left by McKenna and the rest, but he hasn't improved the team at all, and was obviously not the right man for the job.
Search for a new coach begins. AFL boards will be alight with conspiracy theories of premier coaches being paid massive amounts of money by the AFL to take the job. Who would want it? Especially because Ablett will likely leave at the end of the year?

We havent won down there for 12 years , bit of a bogey ground , which I suppose answers your second question .
But the AFL usually push them to play at the G when they play their home games against the bigger clubs for the bigger crowds and the extra dollars ( they played Collingwood and the hawks there this year on home games ) and surprisingly this one , which would be a blockbuster , be easy 75,000 plus , its not happening , richmond fans will be locked out

Rely on them to fuck it up when it counts ,
Unlike my nrl team the storm ,polar opposites,
I'm at that game instead , storm vs roosters , gf preview -
We're not suited to playing on a small ground...
-
@antipodean I've been advised that its a good time of the year to lose a game..not showing all your cards etc etc.

Caught most of the 2nd qtr. Geelong jumped out to big lead. Surprised it ended up that close.
Sydney smacked Freo though. Fizzled a bit after being 50-8 at QT. And 90 odd to 9 at HT.

I cant agree , to keep winning , secure a top 4 spot , possible top 2 spot would be ideal,
dont want to get your hopes up too much, but the reality is , the tiges have had a great season , exceeded everyones expectations, but are probably a bit short of the top sides talent wise ,

Cat park is a narrow ground , and they , like the swans with their short ground , play it better than anybody , hence their home record, no doubt the wide open spaces of the G would suit us more with our pace , but thats footy
is AFL the only football code in the world , where the dimensions of the playing fields vary ? bit like Cricket I guess

good lord, the retirees parade on GF day is going to be all-time!
Add Josh Gibson and the Bob Murphy to the list

Just discovered today the "AFL International Cup" is on, and NZ is in the Grand Final.
Anybody been following it? Even aware of it?it gets a bit of a mention on sports radio in melb ,
From what i can gather ( correct me if im wrong ) nz have been the most successful team in these tournaments

Yeah, to my understanding NZ & Papua New Guinea are the 2 top-tier sides.

This has nothing to do with anything,
But what we are talking about kinda reminded me ,
I once had a conversation with the late great Jim Stynes ( Irish Gaelic footballer converted afl great ruckman )
When he found out I was a kiwi that followed rugby he was pretty interested, played a bit of lock growing up in Ireland. Told me as a junior he toured nz in a Gaelic football team and played against a nz junior Gaelic football team that had zin Zan Brooke in it .
His knowledge of the abs was really good , really surprised me . -

The world would be a better place with more Jim Stynes's - as you said, great man
