Richmond play their best game of the year beating port away and follow it up with their worst ,
Didnt see it , but thats what ive been told
-
Richmond comfortably account for GWS to cement their position in the top four.
-
They have exceeded everyone's expectations so far this year ,
With only two players on their whole list taken as top 4 picks , it's either been a remarkable rebuild , or they are playing above themselves,
Jury still out I guess. -
Lions get a 4th win playing our fastest, sexiest football in years. Then hang on grimly. We're a good chance to escape the spoon now
-
Never had a lot of love for Hawthorn, but two of the absolute best layers of the last 15 years are both retiring at the end of the year. Luke Hodge is probably my favourite player in the league, tough as fuck, composed, skillful, fit as a motherfucker, and has massive games on the biggest stage.
And the other guy that made Hawthorn tick was Sam Mitchell. Another who is fucking tough (with a dirty streak, like Hodge. Lets call it playing right on the edge), just an amazing ball user who sat behind the contest, and won clearance after clearance, and at times, even in GFs made the game look like it was in slow motion. Also there was this:
Best visual sledge ever. Hero.
-
In the beginning , hawks were ridiculed for picking hodge with their pick 1, west coast picked up Judd with pick 2 and for a while he was the superstar of the competition,
The Hodge selection was justified in the end

@mariner4life 1 point better than none. We were 50 points down

So we'll take the draw ...
Lucky to get that too.
Hence happy to take the point

Make that 2 points.
Weird point system really. Doesn't seem to be any scope for 3 points or one point, eg no BPs or golden point, so why 4 for a win and 2 for draw when 2 and 1 serve the same purpose?

Then the comp would only be half as good. Very clever administrators.

Tradition , just how they have always done it ,
Serves the same purpose in the end

So Richmond in my first year supporting them are following on the fine recent tradition of my other yellow (and yellowish) and black teams (Naki/Canes).
Anyone with actual knowledge on the AFL want to give me an idea of what their chances really are?
They haven't won a final in 300 years and are most famous for finding new ways to break their fans hearts.
In a normal season, their chance would be fuck all. But in this fucked up year, anything could happen.
I'm sort of leaning towards a Crows Swans GF
-
@Rembrandt frankly don't care ... (although they're way way WAY further up the ladder than I'd have thunked) so as long as they lose in September and Crows win I'm happy.
Crows won though against Port and remain no.1 on the ladder so all is right with the world.
