Santner wasn't much better. Stupid, stupid decision making. If we don't bat out our overs, will be a crime.

Broom playing very well. Good on him, giving us a chance.

Southee does getting a fucken hard time on here for his anything I must say....

Some of it deserves to be fair.

The sourness and bitterness that goes with supporting the Caps. Or maybe that goes with being a regular on here 🙂

... and can we have Broom in the test side instead of the ever scratchy Nicholls?

All hail the New Broom. 73(75).

    Runs on the board.

Clearly next game Boult should be batting above Santner (maybe even Munroe)

We'll end up 50-60 short of a really good total.

But better than it was looking for awhile....

Australia bat deep but don't have any world class batsmen in their team. I think we have a decent chance of defending that score.

@hydro11 Loving your optimism. If Trent bowls like he batted, who knows?

Nice cameo at the end by Boult. Least that is a half decent total to bowl at. But we'll need to bowl tightly and take the catches first time.

287 is definitely defendable. Add in they are missing their undoubted two best bats, and the guy who glued together their lower middle order in the recent series, and we are in with a shout.

Head the big wicket, and containing the Big Show on a tiny ground.

Lots of guys who can do the job for Australia - but, fewer who've played the big hand regularly.

Rossco has more ODI hundreds than the entire Aussie team. 🙂

To state the obvious, we simply need to bowl them out or we will almost certainly lose. Keep attacking Kane!

13th highest team score at Eden Park

And the top 4 were all in 2 games. For a midget ground, it doesn't give up big scores all that regularly

Only 3 teams have scored more than this and lost (Zimbos v India, Aus v us, and Pakistan v us). Odds are good lads, load up!

With Warner, Smith and Khawaja, I'd be thinking it's not enough - but, they're not there, so I'm reasonably optimistic.

despite my earlier bravado, i have this sneaking suspicion Finch is going to have a fucking redemption innings today and completely get away from us

I'd be incredibly disappointed if that happens. Finch, Marsh, and Faulkner should fail so badly that they have a line put through their name.

Playing CH twice in a year is... well.... kind of shit.

3.1 Boult to Finch, OUT, Neesham dives to his right from square leg, reaches for the ball with both hands, and plucks it out. Boult and Neesham combine to send back Australia's stand-in captain. Not a happy comeback for Finch. Hip-high short ball outside off, Finch simply flaps a pull to square leg
