That is pretty fucking rubbish. 5.8mm is fuck all. That amount should have been slurped up by the super soaker in 2 hours max, especially considering they didn't get any more rain.
Seems like the umpires wanted play to go ahead, and the commentators were baffled as to why it wasn't.
What is the real story? The ground is just shit, or players being little bitches?
Apparently it's Hawkes Bay.
Bill English just said they're having a cabinet meeting about bulldozing it into the sea.

Smithy might go quiet about Napier for at least a week...
You're lucky they don't play matches in Havelock North - he'd never shut up.
He's really from the Poo anyway.

At Seddon Park with the whanau. Very good crowd. Hot as fuck already. Brownlie and Latham both very tentative.
Missing Guppy in that regard. Need someone to put some pressure back on the bowlers.
Latham gets himself out with a stupid shot, should have rolled the wrists on that.
-
In saying that Brownlie is a sensible selection, plenty of experience so unlikely to be overawed by the situation.

I like picking Brownlie. I thought they also could have done well to pick Worker. He can bowl a few handy overs and is better than Williamson in that regard, IMO.
I have a feeling he might be slighly inferior with the bat overall though
-
Brownlie has always liked the extra pace, which is helpful when the other team has two blokes bowling express.

Wouldn't mind seeing Brownlie feature against South Africa because of that.

Kane caught off inside edge off one that tightened him up. Poohs.

I think we're going to need someone to go pretty big today.
After a bit of early swing it looks like 300 might not be enough.
Taylor needs to step up, at least a 50 at a good clip.
-
Yeah @Chris-B . Need to not lose eickets for another 15 to 20 overs and get the bashers getting lucky from then.
Running between wickets not quite 100% slick at the moment ...

Looking very positive so far which is good to see.
