Black Caps v Pakistan

anyone hear the radio breaky show? They had Doull on and he was thinking that Wagner and Neesham would miss out. That was his take on things but Nathan and co reckoned he had the good oil. Seems tough on Wagner but if the wicket stays green then Southee, Boult and Henry are the best choice?
You'd sort of think Doull would have an inside track on information, but I'm pretty sceptical they would pick de Grandhomme ahead of Neesham, unless Neesham isn't fit to bowl.
Doull's batting line-up would be:
Latham, Raval, Williamson, Taylor, Nicholls, de Grandhomme, Watling, Astle, Henry, Southee, Boult
That lower middle order is green as grass - along with having Raval debuting at the top.
Selectors not doing as well since Bruce Edgar departed.
-
yeah I heard that interview, it did sound very much like he knew but was playing it off as he thought that was what they'd go with...also said Southee had been struggling with an ankle injury, which begs the question why keep playing him if he was struggling with an injury that was clearly affecting performance?

Kane has won a toss. Well actually Misbah lost it and unsurprisingly we're having a bowl.
Jeet Raval and Colin de Grandhomme both debut for New Zealand. Neesham is not playing, neither is Matt Henry.
What has CdG done to leapfrog Neesham in the pecking order?
Is Neesham out of form? -

Little Kane wins a toss and we will bowl. de Grandhomme and Wagner are in - Neesham and Henry are not.
Not the choice I would have made for the middle order. I would have barely given Neesham over de Grandhomme a second thought, but let's see Colin prove me wrong.
-
Having CdG there smacks of them picking an allrounder just for the sake of having an allrounder.
If they didn't want Neesham, I'd prefer they picked Henry.
BJ moved up to 6, Astle 7, Henry 8, Wagner 9, Southee 10, Boult 11.Still a decent lower order that can probably all pitch in to score any runs we miss out on by not having an allrounder.
-
We start with a pretty poor review. Hits the batsman above the knee-roll and clearly leg side-ish. I wouldn't have given it in real time and the DRS shows the ball missing the stumps.
We need to watch Steve Smith on reviews - almost never review an lbw - particularly never on line.
-
Not watching but reading Cricinfo's description of Southee's second over: 4 down leg, 1 short and 1 good delivery outside off.
That about sums up what he's been serving up the past couple of years.
Henry > Southee.

Does a guy who has taken 51 wickets in 44 first class matches have a good enough bowling record to be considered an "all rounder" ?
He does in New Zealand.

I've only been watching a little bit, but the commentators saying both Southee and Boult off their games - Southee particularly.
I was about to come and type that de Grandhomme looks innocuous, when he goes straight through Azhar, so lucky I didn't do that!

I wonder what sort of mug would say such a thing. Though I've yet to jinx Southee into form despite trying for months now. I'll keep working on it...
-
Nice work guys keep writing de Grandhomme off please.
Bloody part timer, that wicket was nothing more then beginners luck. Pakistan will dine out on his pies for the rest of the day.

That fucker is sitting in the commentary box telling me what they're doing wrong. Tell someone that can do something about it Shane!
