Shot Black Caps and great work Rossco. Again, what a record for a NZ batsman.

All over tomorrow. Just like their predecessors this Pakistan team can't play too well overseas.

You talking about the number 2 test side in the world who haven't lost a series in their last 12 and drew 2 all in England?

Yep I am. They lost soundly in the last test and sure as shit won't win this one so it's looking at least 1-0 to the BCs comfortably.

Barely a run an over to date, going to be a long day at this rate. Least there's a chance of the day being called off early if there's no chance of bowling them out.

The clouds are starting to disappear too. It seems to be the variable bounce rather than any swing that is causing some problems.

Sounds like the batsmen are in now. Santner needs to do a big job here but I don't think there is much out there for him.

If we can't make inroads a Pakistani win could come into play

295 to make with 66 overs and 10 wickets remaining.

If they go at say 3 an over for the next 16 overs that would give them a 50 over target of 247.

Not easy without the ODI fielding/bowling restrictions, but possible.

There's basically no way Pakistan can score enough to win, they'd have to take some massive risks given there are no ODI bowling and fielding restrictions. You can get pretty cynical if the other team looks like scoring enough, I recall Mcgrath and co bowling a combination of bouncers and very wide full deliveries against us a few years back, making it impossible to keep up a scoring rate.

That's a great effort form the Pakistan openers. Not watching so can't comment on our bowling but to go wicketless in the first session against the new ball will give them a big boost.

I'd feel more confident if you said Pakistan were a shoe in to win now...

Pakistan obviously don't have any interest in winning the test so we'll have an early finish.

Which in fairness is a great result against a strong Pakistan side. It will be interesting to see how they go in Aus. Younis will need to step up, but if Aus play like they did in the first two tests against SA then it could get interesting.

I am very happy with our start to the summer. Green seaming wickets, series victory. Next up.. Chappel-Hadlee series Bring it on.

All 3 options still on the table, although it does look like Pakistan may have turned the tables and aiming for the draw.

REading from cricinfo looks like we have gone to defensive fields.

Pakistan 4 down now after a suicidal 2nd run on CdG's throw.

5 down ... this is getting ... intresting. Draw still heavily favoured, but Pakistan win must have slipped behind nz win now

The tail will be packing themselves, the openers will be scowling at everyone.
