@shark none? the season is completely fucked here now that CA has sold their soul to the BBL and made it take all fucking summer.
There are a few guys in Australia who could make a difference to that Aus lineup who barely ever hit a red ball.

I'm hoping interest in the test championship quells this somewhat.
20/20s are fun and all that but Test Cricket is still THE ultimate form of the game.

The structure of the nz domestic season is still worse and has been for 15 years. Red ball goes into hiatus for 3 months, for T20 plus the list As because NZC think Ford Trophy still matters enough to need an exclusive block in the calendar (it doesn't).
We're just lucky enough to be in a state where we have a solid stable team. So no one is trying to play their way in part way through season to replace a knee-jerk dropping.
Remember when we had Tim McIntosh in test team and he didn't make Auckland T20 team, and at full strength also didn't play List As. Preparing for first test of the season a month after Plunket Shield went into hiatus with a month of club cricket for Parnell as his build up.
That structure hasn't disappeared, it's just that the quality of the current generation has hidden the administrative Russian Roulette that would take place if we were in a more normal playing talent period.

T/20 is a totally unnecessary abomination of the devil
I don't go that far, but India just showed us that T20 is a surprisingly good preparation for test cricket. Honestly, I didn't believe the skills would transfer, but the evidence suggests I was wrong.

Did they, tho? Sure, they were only playing T20 as a tournament but these guys are training and prepping for red ball all the time in the nets in the leadup to various series'.
Pujara was arguably the most important player in the lineup, and he doesn't play short form cricket.

I think they did. 9 of the 11 in the last test were T20 players predominantly. They came out of IPL;I think Sundar hadn't played FC cricket in three years.
So yeah, I think they probably did

A bit of material for @NTA to jerk off to

@No-Quarter soured by his complete lack of current form. Difficult wank.

@MN5 I know you rangas are slow on the uptake, but I didn't actually say he was as good as them.
I'm allowed to get outraged based on assuming things, it's the interweb after all.
Speaking of rangas Shaun Pollock was a hell of an all rounder and some people rate Ben Stokes too.

Having said that:
Bowlers to take more Test wickets at a better strike-rate than Mitchell Starc when he's on his period.
Matt Henry
Matthew Hoggard
Jackson Bird
Darrell TuffyNot end of list
Happy birthday to the Australian sulkster

To be fair, Starc is an absolute gun, a very fine bowler. His off days are peculiar though
He is seriously good but better with a white ball. Strike rate isn't really the best way to look at him in tests I don't think because when he has an off day he leaks runs. 3.35 econ and an average of 27.6. Not as good as Wags and only slightly better than Southee and Boult.
Cummins is the standout obviously in all regards. Hazlewood not too far behind.@booboo said in Aussie Cricket:
How ... Why... do you have a toasted sandwich in your pocket ...
Was it hot? Hand warmer? Willy warmer? Was the yellow filling cheese, or yellow sandpaper? Too many questions.
