@NTA everyone is settling scores this christmas aren't they?
He's got heaps of money, fame and was awesome at sport. If anything he's underachieving compared to the rest of us who have nothing.
Competitively speaking I should be with a 200kg, yoga pants wearing thing with warts and missing teeth.....which i'm certainly not.
She is from the Hutt though.

First test of the summer starts tomorrow in Perth, Aus v South Africa. Aus lineup predictable.
Australian team: David Warner, Shaun Marsh, Usman Khawaja, Steve Smith (c), Adam Voges, Mitchell Marsh, Peter Nevill, Mitchell Starc, Peter Siddle, Josh Hazlewood, Nathan Lyon

@NTA will have kittens when he sees who's there in the number six spot.
As an Aussie fan it would make you long for Shane Watson surely......

The summer of cricket has officially started. Whoop whoop, and what better way to kick things off with an SA vs Aus test match. A lot of talk about sledging etc so should be a pretty fiery encounter.

The blow is softened somewhat by having two Marshes.
Now it's kind of exciting to think about which one will fail harder
Their old man was hardly a superstar either so fucked if I know how they get picked but Shaun Marsh has an average just over 40 which puts him in the very good category for now.

I hear the deck is as flat as the last couple of years, which is a shame.
On the plus side: working from home the rest of the week!

He was the kind of opener we needed at the time. Stick in the mud and all that.

Which is probably why the Marsh boys were picked. They are pretty effective over there when there is a bit of extra bounce and not much else happening from the deck. I'm expecting a run fest. Weather forecast is 24 tomorrow then heating up on Friday and then 35 on Saturday.

are the flat, lifeless decks in Aus now the worst in the world?

@NTA said in Aussie Cricket:
Certainly the variety appears to be gone. Can blame dropin wickets I suppose, but the WACA has no excuses because its a single-sport arena.
I think Starc was having a crack about getting "no home advantage" like they've been facing overseas.
of course they don't. CA want runs, and tests that go 5 days. How do you get those? Flat decks that stay together for 6 days.
Other countries (except NZ, who have similar goals) just want to win.
-
@mariner4life which is fine, but they've lost sight of the fact that us ripping teams out in three days puts tickets at a premium, and allows people to have half a weekend as well.
In fact, if they were smart, they'd put some spice back in the wickets and start games on Friday.
