@NTA How crazy would a 4 pronged fast bowling line up be at the World Cup, presuming you had Head and Maxwell to roll their arms over?

Groundsman at Manuka Oval saying the pitch will provide a 5-day game.

Clearly has seen neither side bat.

An Australian opener out early playing an expansive shot. Who would have thought?

@mariner4life Worst shot of the summer, that. Disgusting. It's the first morning of the test, you leave that ball 11 times out of 10.

Oh, and if you want a laugh, see if you can find a video of the wide that wasn't called in Adelaide's innings last night, it's hilariously bad.

@mariner4life Just watched it now. Was it just me, or did it look like he might have gloved it, and that's why it wasn't called?

Khawaja gone. Seems he can just never kick on with his career.

still, he's averaging 42, which is decent at the moment, especially in Australia's top order.

my only mitigation i could come up with was the umpire thought that, and as we don't get to see it from his angle, I'm not willing to flay him too much. But at no point from the TV angle did i think the batsman got anywhere near it.

Perhaps it was a case of the umpire thinking no top level bowler would bowl something that fucking wide, so it must have hit something?

If i was the bowler i would be laughing my tits off.

Joe Burns breaks through for the first 100 of the summer. Would have got long odds on that in November.

Travis Head also playing nicely, in the mid 80s.

A great recovery after being 3/28, albeit on a flat pitch against mediocre bowling.

No reach to guess it was Harris, and cricinfo confirms it.

Back to state cricket young feller.

That's exceptional for Australia in these dark times.

Well Burns has justified his spot to England as far as I'm concerned. Yeah sure Sri Lanka are fucked right now, but he still made 170 in a day and showed the right shot selection doing it. Can also go the tonk as evidenced by his BBL form.

And is anyone any better or worse against a swinging Duke under English fucking cloud that always seems to clear up when the Pommy bastards bat? Probably not.

Sri Lanka are fucking hopeless in the field. Those dropped catches were simpleton shit in some cases. They're utterly disinterested in long form cricket and just want to put the stripey pyjamas on and whack the white ball.

I'm not even sure they want to do that. Sri Lanka seems have a completely rotten structure. A big team clean out of the back office is needed to regenerate the spirit and identity Sri Lankan cricket.

Losing their two best batsmen ever in quick succession has turned them into a team of utterly crapola proportions.

It's basically what terrifies me about the BCs when KW and Rossco give it away.
