I suspect RA will end up with a policy that is somewhere in between what we have now and 'open slather'. Allow the Wallaby coach to bring in 3-6 guys to sure up positions of need, while erring on the side of local players wherever possible.
Must avoid slippery slopes.
Best players versus best combinations is another argument, and also how much a broadcaster will pay for a competition stripped of its best talent.

But RA still has money to offer pretty good salaries to top tier talent. But also you balance that against (hopefully) a more successful Wallaby side, so I'm not sure it would result in a huge drop in TV revenue.

Meanwhile NSW meekly hands over the West to AFL, league and soccer.

No no, they're extremely concerned about Western Sydney.
After all, if rugby west of the A3 disappears, and league takes all the juniors, where the fuck are Eastern Suburbs clubs going to plunder talent?

All winter sports are officially gone as of today.
that's heartbreaking
Across the board, it is just poo.
On a personal note: Renegades were threatening in all 3 Grades - first time we would have appeared in finals for 7 years.
Now looking at options to use our ground once lockdown lifts to generate a bit of cash to ramp up for next year. Decent lights, pristine surface. Should be able to get a few teams over for an evening 7s tournament for mens or womens.

If ever you could sum up a team with one photo

@mariner4life I genuinely don't understand people that don't want him in the Wallabies. It's the surest way for Australians to demonstrate to me they know fuck all about the game or are partisan clowns.

all effort, all the time, doing the shit jobs no one else in his team is willing to do. Takes a fucking beating every single game and yet never stops. You would love to play with that guy.

Just run his hip until the inevitable break, and simultaneously hope the opposition fullback can tackle, you can catch the offload, and fall over the line.

Wallabies coach Dave Rennie has made another SOS call by bringing Sean McMahon back into the national set-up nearly four years after his last Test. A Wallabies spokesperson said McMahon would join the squad on Tuesday after Sunday’s match against the Springboks.

Quade, McMahon. WTF is going on?

The unsurprising realisation that we have let our development systems die during the last 2 decades.
