When he posts it loud and proud on social media, it is everyone's business
He broke the Inclusion Policy of AR (2014) that he signed up to, just the same as everyone who signs up to specific behaviour for their job. He got a warning last time - apparently not this time
If everyone just went about their daily lives and ignored his post the world would be a better place. Instead everyone is running around drawing attention to it, magnifying the problem they assert exists. Does anybody think sacking him will stop him posting religious nonsense?
What does the ARU think his fellow religious PIs think about this outcome?
I agree on the merit of your point.
However, ARU have made a stance on this, he's signed the contract and he's broken it. Sacked for breaking what the ARU view to be a very important part of the code of conduct, not sacked for being a backward fool.
I agree that on the basis of the contract he agreed to that it's reasonable. I just have a problem with the persecution of thought that shouldn't have been subject to restriction to begin with. And I say that as someone who considers religious beliefs as stone age idiocy.

Make no mistake this has harmed the ARU.
I think ARU come out worse if they let it slide
-
Well he only has himself to blame, it was a pretty hateful post.
If I was a manager of a player in the public eye I would be deleting all social media accounts. Having an opinion that is unpopular now costs you your job.
And to be clear, as an Atheist included in his lovely list, he has been sacked for telling large sections of society that they will go to a place that doesn’t exist.
Very weird really.

It still boggles my mind that him and David Pocock shared a dressing room
I sincerely doubt the strength of Bono's stated convictions.

Your usually amusing level headed posts have taken a turn for the baffling tonight......
Or was it another Wallaby forward who wouldn't get married until same sex marriage was legalised in Oz ?

I'd agree given they drew the line in the sand. A line I don't think should've been drawn where it was.

That was his usual self aggrandising, if he really wanted to prove a point he would have refused to play along side him .
-
Freedom of speech in its purest form. He was free to say it but not free of the consequences of saying it.
If he didn't share the same values of the ARU then he had every opportunity to not sign that contract but he signed it so tough shit. Now hes hiding from his boss like a little bitch. If I were his agent, I would be sooo pissed right now.

Fair call. The almighty $ is a pretty big incentive but again I still stand by my original point of wondering how the actual fuck those two ( arguably their best players ironically enough )actually played together.....
-
I actually feel sorry for the ARU, they are in a lose lose situation.
Folau must be the stupidest fuck out there.
How hard is it to not understand when your paid by someone they are allowed to have expectations of how you behave.
If the CEO of Spark or Fontera etc posted that shit he or she would be gone.As said above hour free to say what you want but your free to face consequences as well.

Was driving home earlier and listening to ZB, a few old timers rung and said they felt that Folau was being vilified for his views. I munched my imaginary popcorn while listening and Marcus Lush quite rightly pointed out that it's not some out of touch preacher spinning shit on a Sunday, it's a "role model" who has untold impressionable fans/youths who look up to him.
But yeah, sad thing is he'll fuck off and earn millions in some french club for the next few years.
-
I don't get this role model argument. Why are people taking moral guidance from an athlete?

Yeah I hate that argument, they aren’t role models. A better way to say it is they are very influential due to their fame.
