@Stargazer Clermont fans are really upset that Ice is not getting re-signed.
Can't blame them. I wonder if Leon MacDonald has been on the phone. I certainly would be.

Saracens face automatic relegation unless they can meet salary-cap requirements
Saracens are facing automatic relegation from the Premiership if they fail to meet the salary cap this season. The club are under increasing pressure, following a PRL board meeting on Tuesday, to prove they are within the £7m-pound limit for this season. In November the Premiership champions were docked 35 points and fined £5.3m for breaching the cap for the past three seasons. Speculation has since remained over whether or not they can avoid a breech for the current campaign, given the number of international players in their squad. It is understood that the other Premiership clubs are demanding Saracens now prove they are within budget or face relegation.
Wales full-back Liam Williams will leave Saracens this summer to rejoin Scarlets but director of rugby Mark McCall has admitted he could leave sooner to get his salary off the books. Asked if Williams could join Scarlets before the end of the season, McCall said: "I'd say there is a possibility. "It was Liam's decision first up that he was going to go back to the Scarlets, back to Wales, and that was for family reasons. "We understood that completely and we don't regret him, and he doesn't regret, coming to Saracens. We don't regret bringing him to Saracens, he has been brilliant. "He was always going to go back to Wales regardless of the salary-cap decision." England international Alex Lozowski is another player who will become a free agent at the end of the season but he intends to see out his contract.

Amazing they got away with it for so long. It's been pretty obvious for a while that their roster is bloated. A lot of it is home grown talent, but that doesn't help. Apparently 2 million over a 7 million cap, not like it's a small overspend - totally cynical and it worked for them getting the titles
Really England should put in a much lower cap, no foreign stars outside of cap, and players that are from their own academy should be exempt from the cap
In addition Leicester, London Irish, and Wasps can continue to be utterly shit without pressure 🤣

@Dice Yes, he's been good. It's disappointing, although I understand the need for rejuvenation of an aging squad.
You hear quite a few Clermont players say he's the best player they've ever played with, which is crazy to me, because Fofana is pretty awesome.
I think the wingers will miss him the most.

Kobe Yamaha game is pretty good fun, BBBR was sort of phoning it in early but suddenly produced a cracking run to score right now.
Carter is still so classy - he’s old, but he’s done well against the Yamaha rush - stepped the rusher a few times, kicked a couple, and now they have more space. God I miss him.
Bucky looking a bit out of sorts.
The first Yamaha try was a cracker too - there is a bit more space and It’s less collision focused so it’s quite a good watch.

Confirmed: Saracens to be relegated at the end of season for salary cap breaches.

Lions and England players will be told to leave club.
First bit is confirmed, second bit not. Farrell had said he'll stay, allegedly.
Interestingly they aren't supposed to be relegated until the following session, accordin the rules. But they took relegation for this upcoming season rather than open their books

Any NZers playing?Yes, Kieran Read and - unknown to me - NZ born Jamie Henry for Toyota and Sam Whitelock and (former Highlander prop) Craig Millar for Panasonic.
Toyota lost 20 to 40 to Panasonic.

The interesting thing about the Sarries saga is that they had a choice of opening the books or relegation. They chose relegation.
Now the next tier is not that strong, especially once Newcastle move up and no doubt Sarries are going to take the cost hit for a year in the wilderness. My guess is that they have 'arrangements' for key players to stay. -
Haha
