Young player of the series, very well deserved, he managed to fill Kane's shoes!
and proably doesn't get to play in the next one unless Williamson picks up another injury.
Good problem for the selectors to have.
It depends if they go for my idea of a strong batting line up with Blundell at seven and Phillips at eight.
Not looking good for Henry Nicholls getting back in anytime despite a nice big double hundred last year.
> So Philips as the bowling alrounder? Suddenly we have depth in a number of positions. So many players enhance their reputations, Satnav grabs his shot at redemption and greatness, just amazing
Absolutely.
Blundell didn’t do much overall, but is there anyone better beating down the door ?

Mitch has entered the chat.... If Devon keeps, that increases our potential flexibility in the middle order

Devon is probably a less tidy keeper than Blundell, though I don't remember seeing him keep in the longer formats.
No need to rush. Blundell might come on, he has done well with the bat before but hasn't kicked on yet. We have some nice depth now, just have to try and keep everyone involved

Really looking forward to reading the breakdowns of Indian fans on social media. They accept losing really well
The next scam caller is going to cop it like after the second test. Worse.

What a feeling. This is right up there with the WTC final. WTC was for a world championship so that's really special, and I think I would have ranked the WTC win higher if that had ended up a 2-1 (or 2-0) series. But to be better than India, in India consistently across three tests is a phenomenon achievement, so I'd rank it as the block caps best ever result.
My son was born on the 30th of September. Black caps haven't lost a test since!

They could give Devon the gloves and send him to rebuild his confidence in the middle order. Kane opens (let's face it, he's been basically doing it already), Young at 3 and Rachin at 4. Bye bye Blundell
Can’t you keep and open?

Mate that’s awesome.

When we still have Jamieson and Sears to come back to add to our bowling depth, the BCs really are in a good space.

Not sure how much we can rely on Jamieson. Fingers god damn crossed though !
I knew we had the batsmen to step up when required but some of the bowling performances were just amazing.

What’s even wrong with him? Feel like he’s been out for years.

I think his back surgery didn't go well as planned

Back issues.
If he does come back fit and playing well SURELY that is the end of Southee given he’d be bowling alongside Henry and O’Rourke and we’d then have to find room for at least one of the spinners.
As you say, it’s a good space ! Some excellent players will miss out during the test series against England.

The 48 that Young scored to get us home in the first test was very Kane-esque, just cool as a cucumber under pressure. So many amazing moments to remember from this series.
The best I’ve seen him bat.

Devon is probably only the 4th best keeper in today's 11 (ok, not really true if Phillips can't physically stop his knees popping out anymore or whatever his issue is that stopped him keeping).
Also, Rachin is a specialist opener.
There are better options than that crazy tinkering suggested above.
But. Most likely will be Young to 12th man.
