Black Caps tour of India

Rachin MOM well done, certainly a few could have got it
-
Innings from Young today was superb under pressure and the confidence of Rachin really helps. Still can’t believe the result

Boundary count update -New Zealand: 72
India: 67
I am glad people are still mocking that. Winning the CWC only to have it handed to the opposition over a bizarre boundary rule only used for that single tournament is one of the biggest injustices in the history of cricket.

Kudos to Conway. He's not totally back to form, but he got a meritorious 91 in the first innings, and played a crucial part in the second. He was very uncomfortable especially against Bumrah, but he put his body on the line and did his bit to blunt the Indian spearhead, paving the way for the victory

That really was an incredible test. The drama of bowling India out for their lowest ever total at home, a record we will hold for a long time. Then the way Latham and Conway went past their score batting in almost the same conditions was epic, and the tears from the Indian comms were delicious. Then Conway and Rachin showing their class, before the unlikeliest of hero's with the bat Southee not only making a superb half century, but also going past Sehwag on the test 6s hit list just to rub it in even more, and getting us up to 402 to build a massive lead.
Then the fight back from India in their second innings was incredible given the way the game had gone until then. Rohit and Kohli showed their class, and Sarfaraz just belted us mostly to third man for a pretty remarkable ton given his technique and batting style. That was a real onslaught but we held our nerve, and O'Rourke stepped up and swung the momentum and we immediately capitalised to roll through them again and limit the damage, but it still left us with a nerve wrecking total to chase.
Despite the conditions and the quality of opposition, Young, whose technique has been found out in the past, was just all class. Left well, didn't chase the ball outside off, and punished the bad deliveries, guiding us to victory under huge pressure from India and their baying crowd.
I will enjoy this one for the rest of my life. So many amazing moments in the test, and an emphatic victory in the end to really stick it to India. Sets up this test series beautifully as well.

Last test victory in India…….
No Crowe. Tony Blain playing as a specialist batsman ?
Bloody handy all round MOM effort from Bracewell despite Paddles getting a 10 fer.
Also during the series the whole team got the shits if I remember Paddles book correctly.
Excellent effort. ( the cricket, not the bowel movements )

@MN5 Smithy with a half century in that game as well, he must have loved commentating this one

We might have to have this won by lunch or the rain will come I think
Or hold on until lunch and hope the rain saves us.
PTSD from NZ vs Pakistan in Hamilton back in the 90s
India don’t have Waqar and Wasim
…unfortunately they do have Bumrah, Ashwin and Jadeja.
It's all good now, but the post after this mentioned "Latham" ... and the Skipper's dad was THE Waqar wicket we all remember from that ... errm ... occasion.

An 8 wicket win against India in India? Amazing
Eat a box of cocks India.
This is a delicious day

We really, really need to win the toss for this one
-
An absolutely huge bonus for us now is that our best (fit) player Rachin excels against spin bowling. If we can get Kane back then we'll have two world class players of spin so it's not quite as daunting as it has been in the past.
-
Time to join the select few with a series win in India.

I'd take ten days of rain about now.
Bunsen's are no doubt on the way though...
forecast looks disturbingly dry.
Betfair has India at $1.35, and us and the draw at $8
