Wallabies v Springboks

How was Hooper MoTM!? And I thought Pocock was kicking the ball bbc ac km in the rucks..
This Argie game could be interesting...
Nb apart from a fitter looking Genial I thought the Wallabies- well their tight forwards anyway - looked a little chubby. But after the first few minutes the Boks just looked clueless. -
Only saw bits of this as I was out, and the area of the pub in which the function was held played only mungoball.
So from the bits I saw in the Sports Bar of said venue .... fuck. Some great stuff in there by the Wobs, but a continuation of the bad defence to start, and the aimless kicking throughout. Might be a reply on tomorrow. I might give enough fucks to watch it. Probably not.
Point is: we won. Streak broken.
But, as I was saying to the two very disgusted South African gents in the Sports Bar: my concern for both the Boks and Wallabies is burgeoning. They're hampered by their race politics. We're hampered by our school tie politics. Only one of those discussions is headed in a positive direction as far as quality of rugby is concerned.

I think its pretty obvious now , the ABS are currently on another level ,
The interesting part for me , is where the Pumas fit in , in relation to the other two sides ,
Next weeks game will tell us a lot more

Watching replay now. Shit, Hodge has a massive boot. He just punched a touch finder from our 30 to just outside the Bok 22.
Bit of grease on the deck didn't help the handling in contact. Some really good work from us overall, even if the opposition weren't much chop.

I didn't think it was that bad a game, at least both sides were trying to play attacking, positive footy.
We selected a bits-and-pieces side, and played like a bits-and-pieces side. But our forwards muscled up and our defence was great.
We probably should have won by 20, but sucked at converting half-chances into tries. That said, good to see Genia back in form, Cooper finding his feet, and Kerevi growing in confidence.
Not the prettiest, but I'll take it.

@barbarian I think Fat Kerevei actually won that game for you guys. For some inexplicable reason the Boks couldn't tackle him (like back when the ABs couldn't tackle Mortlock) and he just kept getting Oz on the front foot. I doubt he'll have as influential a game again though.

Which is a big improvement considering how many points they have given away in the previous 5 games.
I was surprised they managed to grind their way back into the game. They were unlucky to be so far behind early on. I was really expecting the heads to drop and SA to run away with it after that start

The Bok 15 are probably the smallest team going around atm. When did anyone ever think that this would be the case? They chose to give up their power game for whatever reason, but don't have the skillset or the tactical ability to play a NZ style game. Their coach has to take a lot of the blame for that, was useless with the Stormers but thanks to the quota system he is the man in charge now. Watching some of the South African rugby shows, it's very noticeable that the black experts on the panel do tend to get defensive whenever one of the black players is criticised by Mallet, Nass Botha, De Villiers and co. Until they can get their shit sorted off the field and see past racial boundaries, they will continue to under perform.
-
Didnt notice the boks were that small but I did notice their tackling seemed to lack a bit of dominance. And when they couldnt punch through on Aus tryline you could see the Wallabies grown in confidence.

He was also a factor in us not winning by 20 as @barbarian said : once through contact he wasn't looking for support players and actually ran away from his winger a couple of times.
Was a good game from him, but I see him more as a 12 on the crash, then using his hands for the offload or short pass

I actually don't think you would have won this game without him so the margin is irrelevant. I still don't think he's that good a player though.
