This could get very ugly
England too physical, too quick, too clinical
Eng 39-12
52 mins -
First multi-phase play from NZ this half
Battering the England line and they’re finally over
Eng 39-19 NZ
56 mins -
Big difference between the teams is when England are under pressure they don’t panic and shit the bed
-
Interception by the NZ 8 as England force the pass and they go the length of the field for the try
Eng 39-24 NZ
65 mins -
NZ we’re looking really good taking the ball up and putting people into space only for a clearing kick to go out on the full and then England waltz in without having to work hard for the score
Eng 44-24
71 mins -
England in again despite some good NZ defence
Eng 49-24
77 mins -
NZ have the final say with sustained picks & go
Eng 49-31 NZ
Full timeEngland just too good in all facets
Great watch

The gap has closed a little when you compare where England were in 2021. They play like professionals. They follow the script and have a rapid back 3 capable of brilliance to break games open.
Black Ferns have to get fitter. No doubting their ball in hand skills and their defence was improved today. But to best this England team, opponents have to best their forward pack. Pick and drive from NZ today created plenty of gaps. Mitchell won’t like that.

England really exposed NZ on the edges. The BF attack looked much better when Joseph was subbed. She was a big part of the problem with laboured and delayed passing putting kickers under pressure.
No doubt that England are well ahead of the other teams, although Canada might have something to say about that. It makes England's choke at the RWC that more delicious.

I’ll say it now. If England fail to win the next World Cup at home, it will be the most monumental choke I have seen in sport. They aren’t winning by the odd point. They are winning by double digits in nearly all cases.
They will be happy red cards are only 20 mins now, as a red card under the old laws is the only way I can see them losing. An England win in women’s rugby is as close to a guaranteed win as I have seen.

Considering they came into that final on a record winning streak, having smashed the BF recently, the last final was the biggest RWC choke ever. It would be hard to top that

I think the mitigation is the red card. England win that without it IMO.
Now that red cards are only 20 mins, there will be no mitigation.
