Bizarre tap and go move missed by the officials.
I was real confused when it happened, seemed straight obstruction. But as always if that's how the ref sees it as ok, it's ok.
I still think when Reece cuts back in field he runs behind other players , and it is same anyway. Guess the laws are seen differently to what I think.I think if a try was scored directly from that it would have been a TMO check.

Did anyone notice the lineout prior to Reece’s try?
Right in front of ref Aus jumper used outside arm to tap the ball while using inside arm to impede Vaa’i and get lift off him.
What’s up with that? I always thought was illegal. Has there been a law change? The Stan Sport commentators called it out.

@Dan54 because that’s his best position, 6 is Blackadder’s best position and he has been a stellar performer there as well, and 7 is Ardies best position.
I didn’t realise the ABs played a bunch of tests that I missed this season
Hey come on, he's played a grand total of 14 tests since his debut in 2021,half of those against tier 2 nations. I wouldn't have him there and we've gone on and on about it on here, but it wouldn't surprise me if he slots in at 7 for the 1 test that he's fit for a year. Razor loves him. I'd have Papali'i for the mean time, not because I'm his biggest fan, but I feel like he's reliable enough as a 7 without being spectacular.
Savea ain't getting moved from 8, when was the last time he actually played there? 2018? Yet people still keep going on about how he should be there, and yeah Sititi is undroppable these days.
What I think they go with.
- Sititi
- Blackadder
- Savea
Jacobsen
What I'd go with (It won't happen)
- Sititi
- Papali'i
- Savea
.
Sotutu
Clear Blues bias I could be accused for, but it would be nice to have an extra ball carrier off the bench and I feel like Sotutu could really make an impact there if given the opportunity. Papali'i would be my 7 for now, as I said earlier, he's reliable enough there. I would like to see Peter Lakai introduced at some stage, I think he could mke a real case for that 7 jersey going forward.
-
What is sititis history of 6/8 ?
I understand he played mainly 8 for the chiefs ,
But I saw a team photo online where he was captain and playing 6 for an underage blues side .
For what it’s worth I think he’s been our best 6 this year .

@MN5 if you’re to slow to realise that he clearly has the ability to play even better at the position he has specialised in for most of his high level rugby then I can’t help you…
It must be really stink for Sititi to realise that he’s just keeping the jersey warm for when Ethan comes back. I hope someone has told him.

@African-Monkey Papalii seems to be on the outer so let's see if he replaces Cane. Lakai might be the player they look at to provide more mobility. It's clear that Robertson prefers some versatility in the loose forwards, and that the 7 needs to do the dirty work to allow Savea to do his thing.

I first saw Sititi playing for the Blues U18s when he was the captain and no.8. Much leaner back then. No.8 for the Blues U20s too.
He was the 7 for the NZ U20s with Lakai at no.8.

Yeah don't know what the go is with Papali'i, but I do agree that they don't seem overly keen on him. They seem to prefer Jacobsen due to his ability to cover all 3 positions, so he seems like a lock for the bench spot with Papali’i or Blackadder gunning for the starting 7 spot which you would have to say if fit, Blackadder is probably the frontrunner.
It's always been the case with Savea, hence why they loved Frizzell and Cane partnering him, as they were both deemed as the best cleaners and played better in close quarters under the previous management.
-
Probably true in what they think but for me Papali'i is the best cleaner in the squad and the most accurate and reliable player for securing the breakdown.

Yeah but he can’t inadequately cover multiple positions like Blackadder and Jacobson

Tosi is a monster, fuck he's good
Once he’s sorted out his scrummaging he’ll be a beast.
How shit is it?
Not shit but he’s only played prop for three years so his ceiling is high.
Was very effective following in from Tyrel in Superb Rugby.
In Superb Rugby huh? I bet that really impressed the NH scribes! I'm gonna use that term now just for their moral outrage!

You have lost the fucking plot. All we're suggesting is that this is an improvement on last week and you're comparing 4 years of Fozz-ball vs 7 tests of Ray Ray.
It'd be virtually fucking impossible NOT to improve on last weeks performance - probably the worst I've seen in the pro era.
But try reading what I wrote, And then tell me things have improved in the last 12 months.
Hyperbole. Given during Foster's regime we had the biggest test loss ever - last year - so yes it is possible to not improve and actually get worse.
How good are Australia now and esp against us given the Schmidt ex AB coach factor? Better than #10 I wager.
I personally think Australia should beat Italy and Japan (at least on neutral ground) but we will get a better idea on the tour of where we stand. -

Can anyone tell me what these nearly no look passes usually by a fatty when we are spinning the ball wide are all about.
Aumua was doing them well earlier in the championship so I assume a team strategy.
-
My apologies to SB he was better than ok his defensive stats were huge, same as Savea. But Savea is playing (tackling) more like a 6 and Wallace is running like an 8
Cane seems to have trouble getting around fast enough.
I do wonder, if Scotty B is always buried in rucks and tackles that this might affect his ability to be captain effectively.
-
Thanks Sam, you were great, but 100 and out I’d say. Just not up with the play effectively enough and we need more than a full time cleaner at 7.
I think the rugby pod is correct and that Blackadder will get the 7 shirt next, but it will be interesting to see if they bring in Lakai.
I’d consider bringing along the young Waikato kid as an apprentice - although he might be a year away from that. He’ll be an AB though, I’m sure of it.
-
If there is one thing that is certain it's that Blackadder won't stay fit and Blackadder is just as slow as Cane. Blackadder is another player who consistently makes errors.
I'd rather see Papali'i or Savea at 7. I am so tired of selecting a 7 who is in and out of the game with injuries every year.
Lakai needs to improve his breakdown.
