Mitch has runs on the board. Literally.

Chandimal with a hundred, Sri Lanka closing in on 200 and our only wicket other than the one that Southee got was due to a run out.

Could be a LONG day tomorrow.

Southee playing as a specialist captain now that he’s taken a single wicket for 30 runs, has stopped bowling as he clearly doesn’t want the average to get any worse

Phillips economical AND gets a wicket. Sri Lanka reeling a 221/3, let the collapse begin

Tim needs to finish up pretty soon if he wants a sub-30 career bowling average.

Yeah that to me is the difference between ‘good’ and ‘very good’ ( with sub 25 being excellent )

@MN5 Right now, he's got less than 100 runs to play with - before his next wicket.

Looking at Matt Henry's performances in the past 2 years it's pretty hard to justify Timmy playing ahead of him.

Thank Stead for handing Timee the captaincy

We are missing a seamer like Wags, who could make the most out of unfavorable wickets, making the batsmen constantly uncomfortable. Loves Wags

It's a while since I've thought about the next Test keeper in line. But Blundell's batting and keeping aren't brilliant these days...

After a promising start he hasn't kicked on to become BJW 2.0 as we'd hoped

I love Wags too, it’s unfern like not to…..but I think he bowed out at the right time

As for today it would sure be nice for O’Rourke to get a couple of quick ones.

Always a bit shit when a part time spinner gets a wicket when the front liners couldn’t….Patel and Santner need a rocket.

Unless Patel was horrid, that is tough on him. He has a 10fer, and picked up 8 or 9 wickets in the last test. He's doing his bit!

Yeah fair call, I just gave myself an uppercut, ridiculous of me to expect sustained amazingness in every test !

    Santner though…..

Santner realistically doesn't put enough spin on the ball for either his stock ball or variations to be a genuine wicket taking threat in Tests. But can restrict scoring rates. Sodhi arguably an opposite...
