The games I've seen Proctor play at 12 have been good but it will be ALB at 12.

With Jordie injured and ALB stinking out the joint 12 is looking REALLY bad all of a sudden.

Don't worry, DH is in the squad.

After all the criticism of Ardie at 8 I wouldn’t mind him getting a run there either. We’ll be fine

Was it BGS who said years ago Ardie doesn't play a traditional position, he plays his own position called the Savea ( or something like that)? Yes,we could put the number 12 on his back and let him do his own thing. What could possibly go wrong?

It's possible considering JB is probably injured and ALB didn't play well. Or a surprise selection of Plummer at 12, him and RI have played together a lot

I'd like to see ALB/RI play after having a full week training together though

I agree it's possible. While he didn't do anything flashy, DH showed a physicality to his game for Ta$man that would have pleased the selectors. Not saying I would pick him though.

DMac was more Helter skelter yesterday than ever, certainly more than he showed for the Chiefs. There are others, such as Aumua who are shadows of their SR selves. Is the coaching team responsible for this?

Just shows how tough the step up to international rugby is. Plenty of players have failed to make the leap.

I'm not sure the team pattern is contributing to it too. Razor seems obsessed with getting the ball out wide, which leads to errors from over eager players. But we lack plan B

Plummer was picked as backup 10 AND 12 wasn't he?

@BerniesCorner Great team except Sititi to 8 and Blackadder to 6 if fit.

Yep I would be happy, and Ardie to bench, almost needs a refresh!

Though Sititi has been bloody good at 6, so can see why they would keep him there too!

    Players that should be rested:

    Taylor, Lomax, A. Savea, D Mac, J.Barrett, R. Ioane

So the team I'd pick is:

De Groot, Bell, Tosi, S.Barrett, Vaii, Finau, Blackadder, Sititi, Ratima, Plummer, Clarke, ALB, Proctor, Jordan, Love

Aumua, Williams, Ofa T, Darry, Cane, Hotham, B. Barrett, Telea,

I don't mind that but Love is out. Bring Reiko to the bench for whoever covers fullback (BB, or Telea to wing, WJ to 15).

    Start Cane.

Will Sevu get dropped for Telea? Surely Sotutu gets the nod.

How? He's not in the squad.

    @booboo

If Love is out then, I'd give Jordan another shot at fullback and bring in Telea or Reece. Will Jordan is a natural 14 to me, but him being able to play FB might be useful in the future.

The Blackadder vs Cane call on who should start and who should come off the bench should be based on fitness rather than sentiment.

Ireland in Ireland is looking more and more like the Test that will define the ABs' year.

@booboo Sevu was like a headless chook, too small at the cleanouts and not as accurate as Telea. Sotutu will probably force his way in through injuries.

I thought Ardie had a good game but he did go straight into Japan season after the World Cup.

Razor's first season couldn't have been tougher. He has at least protected the Eden Park record and the Bledisloe. He is however facing the prospect of 6 or 7 losses this season. Remember also that our record at Wellington hasn't been that flash.

This season is interesting as a lot hangs on each game. We win Wallabies 2 it's a pass. The wolves are certainly at the door though.
I think the team would be stronger if we had given guys like Love, Plummer, Paps, Darry, Proctor, Aumua more game time off the bench.
Some of the golden oldies need a reset off the pine.
Huge finds this past year in the developing Williams, Vaai, Sititi, Roigard and Ratima
We seriously need a quick 7

Six would equal our worst year ever (from the 40s)

Seven losses would be a new record.

So far, the one that really pisses me off is Argentina at home. All the others are reasonable losses - and you may burgle one or two away.
