NRL 2024

We kick a couple of goals during that match and we don't have to worry about SOS. Seem to get some things right and then make some basic mistakes.
Kicking is not an optional extra in the NRL anymore and since when does a coach not have a back up kicker, if the first one is having an off day.
Entertaining game anyway, just a pity we were on the wrong side of the final blowDont know who stops Penrith

Webster should be looking at next year, and a few guys should be given the freedom to find new homes if they can.
We have an absence of strike players out wide. CNK tries hard but he doesn't spark much. We're short at wing. The soul glow enigma can go, he's a net negative. The other wing was an issue all year. Our centres need a lot of work, and our edge defense is appalling. What to do with Roger?
I fear for the halves. CHT is broken mentally and will cost us more games than he wins. TMM plays okay, and maybe as the organising half will be okay. Kicking game suspect. Metcalf has got better the longer he has been out, based on a couple of decent running tries early on.
Tohu at lock will be even slower and even more broken next year. Everyone worked out his passing game too. What makes Yeo so good at it is, if you look for the pass he'll hold the ball and burn you for 15m. Tohu doesn't have that any more.
More strike edge players.
I hope fish can motivate the propping group. Barnett should be captain next year. AFB's tries need replacing. And the game plan needs more risk involved. We are not Penrith. No one is. read the game. Tries are scored from further out. 5 good yardage hit ups and a safety kick does not work for us.
Webster has his work cut out to prove 2023 wasn't a huge fluke based on two guys having the best years of their career.

I feel for CHT, the kid took time away from the game for mental health problems and then we give the kid the sole pressure to kick goals with no back up..
also surprised not one player said "let me have a go"
you're right though, he will cost us more than we will win while he doesn't get support
Im assuming Pompey kicks when he is back anyway, but still should be other options.
plenty of gaps in roster, hoping some improve with age, but others that have already aged, should think about what they actually contribute
-
@bayimports well it was fine while it lasted.... 🙄

this will continue as long as the warriors continue to be a place for kiwis wanting to come home for one last contract. We get these guys 3 years after their prime and hope to get one or two good years out of them. It doesn't always work out.

Agree on that last sentence.
I iwsh Tohu would retire, it was sad watching him bumble about this year trying to pass without ever committing his body in attack. Of course I take this all back if he recovers in the off season and has a cracking 2025.
On a bogan rugby forum I frequent they love Metcalf, see him as the next big 7. They also think Cam George is a master. Not sure why I hang out there after reading those two sentences back.
I can't go to the Manly game on Friday due to a PD day for work, normally I'd be majorly pissed off, but I think we'll be mentally done after yesterdays match and will get hammered so might be a good one to miss.

I doubt an early return for Latrell now lol

the most criminal act in that pic is a fucking red cruiser

More gossip
Some more tidbits to talk about:Roosters apparently shopping Dom Young.
Sexton linked to Broncos.
Knight linked back to Bunnies.
Brodie Croft linked to Tigers.
RCG may end up at the Cowboys before his England stint. And the most pressing issue, should you be allowed to bite someone who is trying to nosefk your mouth.. love to know how the judiciary sees this.
-
Young being shopped is no surprise, he's done nothing this year
Sexton to the Broncos is interesting. Kev clearly doesn't rate the halves they have in Q-Cup
Croft? oh Tigers, why do you constantly do dumb shit?
RCG to the cowboys makes sense if he is on low money, otherwise that's a terrible pick up.I know it's not the 90s any more, but there is so much that goes on in a game of league that would instantly go away if they allowed a few punches. Some bloke is rubbing his head in to your face? Stand up and belt him (not that i would fight critta he's fucking huge)
-
@mariner4life Tigers seemingly play for any half on the market regardless of quality. Rumor is that Sezer might be off back to England
I thought the Dom Young one was still a surprise, but for that money you do expect more.
RCG would be a good middle at the Cowboys with the injuries you guys have had, just would also need to know for how much, certainly not current salary
I don't condone biting, however that Critta got what he deserved.. an NHL style fight probably would let the heat out, but like you say, who the hell would take him on.

In the vain hope it might be an improvement.
-
Skelton to Tigers and Holmes to Dargons, pretty good pick up for both clubs
-
fuck you Todd Payton. The Cowboys aren't wining shit this year, just let Clifford play out the season for the Pride.
-
Really good game last night between the pending grand finalists. Melbourne just tipping over Penrith in Penrith. Good night for the Storm, they won, probably locked up the minor premiership, and Cam Munster looked to be playing his way to a bit of form. Harry Grant probably had his best game in a long time as well.
Not so good for Penrith, they lost, and Nathan Cleary came off with a very sore looking shoulder injury (thanks for the detailed updates Jake Duke you fucking idiot).
-
News: Val Holmes to the Dragons now a done deal.
Biggest Story. Les Boyd inducted to the NRL Hall of Fame. Who you ask? 80s thug who got rubbed out for like 27 weeks for firstly a filthy elbow that broke Daryl Browman's jaw, and then an eye gouge. It's a weird selection all round, his career in Aus wasn't exactly amazing, and those two acts alone should be enough to keep him out.
Browman called it out too, and good on him. An astoundingly bad call by who ever voted Boyd in. -

great game, not so sure I agreed with the ref on a few calls, but intense all the same.
Yeo hitting his straps
Wishy arguably better than Munster right now
Even without Cleary I suspect these two teams duke it out later, both just seem to handle a different level well.
Also league intelligence (if there is such a thing), both these sides know how to use their challenge incredibly well -

do the Daly Ms have a breakout player of the year?
And yes the challenges last night were elite. No 50/50 stripping penalties 13 minutes in to the contest like certain stupid teams
