a few surprises there.
Have heard they were still having issues early this week getting NZR clearance for Cobb & Adams after returning from MLR.
Fono has been out injured (think it was early in NPC last year) and played the last 2 games of the club season.
Saimoni at 7 is interesting, I'd have put Woods there in Matich's absence, but huge chance for the seemingly always injured Saimoni to show his wares.
Nichols has played at 13 this season, havent seen enough of him to judge if quick enough for wing.
Nock has had a bit of flu, so not 100% yet.
Good to see Salmon get his debut off the bench.
I believe Matich & Duncan both out for significant period (hammy & shoulder dislocation respectively)
Gonna need to be on top of thier game against a solid looking Cantab outfit!
-
What's your opinion on Latu?
Evans defending at 13 is risky and the Cantabs have some strong runners in the midfield
-
@Duluth I only saw a few of his games, he started on the wing and showed a bit, but was when he was moved to 12 (during his debut club game) he looked much better and then started at 12 thereafter, looks the type who needs to get his hands on the ball more.
Guess they have the option to slide Nichols in to defend at 13 if they see that as an issue.

23 Jone RovaInsanely strong side for an NPC line up. Struggle to see anyone getting the better of them this season. Hopefully Northland can turn up and make a game of it.

@Landers92 yeah is a pretty tough looking team, guess if there is a chance of upsetting them or pushing them close, round 1 is it.

They have been looking good on paper for a few seasons now but have looked poorly coached. Maybe this year will be different.

@kev I think northland set piece goes very well this year. They have a few veterans who are good at this side of the game. This game, I worry about the loose heads (2 starters out) at scrum time and the young mid fielder on the wing vs the contestables Canterbury use a lot.
Northland at $101 to win is crazy for a team I can see making the top 8
