Looks like China and USA will battle it out to be top of the medal table.
Then France, the UK and Australia will battle it out for 3rd, 4th and 5th. Japan will probably be 6th.
Australia punching way above its population and GDP.

100 m seems sooo slow without bolt. Like treading water. Athlete of the century.

Was watching badminton semis last night with a Spanish woman cruising into the final. Left the room for a few minutes and when came back in the she was lying on the floor screaming and crying. Injured. She was doing it for a few minutes. Could really feel that "it's just not fair" pain.
Yeah that sucked

Simbane ran 9.82, but didn't win a medal. A ridiculously fast race. Noah Lyles had to run a PB to win it.
Fastest 100m of all time (combined times)

It really is bloody amazing how well Aussie do in the Olympics. Blows my mind every time.
Just seem to be in competitive across the board
It did not go unnoticed to me that they are one of the countries that are near the top of the actual medal table and the per capita table as well

Seven runners under 9.90 and one other at 9.91.
A really great standard, although still behind what Usain Bolt achieved.

Reluctant to share this on account of James Corden being in it……he’s actually a better sprinter than comedian
But good for perspective……Boult definitely cruising and having fun.

They have been in a 12-16 year purple patch with their female swimmers. I’m not a huge watcher of the swimming but they just keep unearthing new talent year after year.
