Really annoyed Sky isn't showing the 49er medal race at 11.15pm. We are in with a shot of gold and it's not on any of their channels. ffs.

Must be the Men's 49er as there was huge drama at the end of the Women's 49er race

    From Stuff.co.nz live coverage
There's drama at the end of the women's 49er FX medal race... with it taking an eternity for official confirmation of which crew has triumphed!

The medal race had a crazy finish, with the Netherlands leading the United States, then they thought they had hit the finish line and stopped sailing, only for Sweden to swoop in and win it, ahead of Italy, then the quick-recovering Netherlands, then the Kiwi crew of Jo Aleh and Molly Meech in fourth.

And that has amounted to the Netherlands taking gold, Sweden silver and France bronze (Aleh and Meech were out of the running for a medal going into the medal race, and finish up seventh).

I found it on channel 7. It says it's the tennis but it's actually the sailing. If anyone wants to watch the McKiwis push for gold, they are starting in about 15 minutes on Sky Channel 7.

Did wonder about that, but nup.

Both 7s and T20 are gateway drugs for the proper stuff.

Bball is already huge and at the Olympics.

It may just be me but have you seen anywhere any evidence of 3x3? Is it on the X Games? Is there a Mercan league I've missed?

At least the other two have some sort of on going comp ... T20 is vaguely popular amongst a small proportion of the World's population...

Ireland jumped the start and have to go back. That pushes the door for NZ to get to silver

It’s a shame, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh etc need all the medal chances they can get

NZ are currently sitting second in the medal race up the first beat. If it finishes like this we will end up with a silver.

NZL had a great beat, right behind leaders Spain. Ireland's snafu at the start gives us a degree of comfort in silver position. Spain locked on gold barring a big mistake

@canefan yeah it’s almost a certainty now that Spain will get gold and we will get silver. Irish have royally cocked up their chances.

NZL avoid any risk of stuff ups by steering clear of the Netherlands at the turn. We are comfortable in 3rd which will give us silver, looks like the USA have overtaken Ireland for bronze

Currently sitting 11 on the medal table. Not bad at all.

And with serious gold and silver medals chances in the canoeing, and more in the rowing to come. Not sure how our cycling team stacks up, but they are generally a good chance for medals too

It feels like there are too many events on at the same time in the next few days. I think they should spread future Olympic Games over three weeks to reduce clashes.
