Broncos are done for the year, shut them down
-
The byes always make the ladder look a little weird, but we can start putting lines through teams.
you probably need 12 wins to play finals. Which means the Warriors and the Broncos need to win 4 from 5. Fat fucking chance. Newcastle would need 4 from 6, but also their for and against is awful. Write them all off.
Next up the Dolphins, Canberra and the Dragon need 3 from 6. Of those 3 only the Dolphins have a decent for and against. However, the Raiders and the Dolphins play 6 against teams above them on the ladder. St George get the the Titans and the already holidaying Eels.
The top 7 should all make it now. The Bulldogs look likely to finish top 4
Games pretty much to form. Melbourne pumping the Eels, Penrith pumping the Dragons. Broncos going down without a fight was a surprise, and Kevvie is in the hottest seat in town. Cowboys beat the depleted Sharks on the back of old man Feldt. Gold Coast scored 21 straight to beat the Dolphins. And the Raiders finally put to bed any talk of the Bunnies making late season waves.

Biggest stories from the weekend is how fucked teams are getting with concussions on outside backs absolutely wrecking them. Manly lost two outside backs to HIA on the weekend without the ability to activate their sub. Seibold went off in the presser, his ire at the Bunker Doctor who rubbed Garrick out without even being at the ground or inspecting him. Which is actually pretty fucked.
And Val Holmes has been told he's welcome to find a new home.

Garrick stumbled around pretty bad after that tackle but if it was the bunker doctor that ruled cat 1 then that is fucked.
NRL will need to tweak activating subs in future for sure, the deeper assessment is a positive change but how they are actively replaced is way off.
Val Holmes and Jack Bird shopped as of weekend and big Uto declares finally the Tigers won’t be home next season

i am actually proud of the Tigers for not overpaying for this scrub. He downed tools months ago, and wants $800k? get to fuck.
-
@mariner4life hardly someone you want to pay overs for if they’re not putting in. Good too see Bateman shown the door too
-
@bayimports Signing John Bateman to a 4 year deal is up there with some of the worst business you'll see even for the Tigers standards.

player rumour mill in overdrive
Yesterday it was reported that Brian To'o was having a look around (and 16 clubs got erections). Penrith said he's not going anywhere. But they are out again today.
Probably another bit of player agent bullshit. But, if you've won literally everything at a club, and then all your best mates at the club leave for massive deals, maybe you do think about the grass being greener. And there isn't a club in the comp that wouldn't over pay for you. Then today Blaize Talagi is leaving the Eels. Not 2 weeks after effectively being given the #1 jersey next year. Clubs at the bottom are so fucked. The Eels are a massive club with a highly regarded coach coming in who are 2 years from a GF appearance. They wanted him, and wanted to pay. But he wants to go somewhere else to win where it's easier.
His manager is the odious Isaac Moses. Which explains why this looks a bit shit -
wait, fuck, the further rumour is Talagi to Penrith. Good for the Panthers, they do desperately need the help. They haven't won a comp in like 10 months now. And before that they had to wait 12 months. And 12 months before that too. Don't know how their fans put up with it.

To be fair, Panthers have been losing loads of players. Would be great for them to pick one up.
Heaps of people were wondering if To'o would be going to the Tigers.
-
Panthers don't need to by players because Sydney's real estate prices keep pushing all the junior players in to their laps.
-
@mariner4life That process started 30-40 years ago. The talent sitting out there west of Blacktown is immense. A catchment area of ~175 km² if you drew a circle from Penrith to Minchinbury with the centre in St Marys.
I don't know what the enrolment numbers are for age group for Penrith and Districts, but I'd bet a sizeable number they'd be better than practically everywhere else.

Case in point, their first premiership winning team was basically all homegrown wasn't it?

god fucking dammit
Dylan Walker leaving and heading back to Aus for "personal reasons"
I know he's been hurt a bit, but he's generally a reason when we play good.
Ultimate squaddie Jazz Tevaga is off too. Seems a locker room, heart and soul type guy. But i will not miss a shit ineffective hit up, and the inevitable turnover/dumb penalty on the back of it.
-
If they replace Jazz with a junior then I'm all good with him moving on, however, if they replace him with another journeyman Aussie then I'm going to go out and kick the first person I see with the name Cam or George.
Maybe these changes are also a signal that Webster has realised his little man bench strategy has been worked out and we're going to start playing with an actual prop rotation (especially without AFB to score tries at will in close).
Walker has been really good for us so bummer he's leaving.
-
Can we shoot dickfingers Ford in to the sun while we are at it?

Well he covers this part from your post so you don't get to miss it:
"But i will not miss a shit ineffective hit up, and the inevitable turnover/dumb penalty on the back of it." -
Ford can actually run a line and hit a hole. His problem is, he's more likely than not to drop it in a dangerous area.
-
Jazz deserves a good send off just for being a team man, but won’t be missed on the field. Dylan Walker seriously reinvigorated his career here and will be hard to replace.
Given the halves scenario maybe they are hoping CHT can play the Walker role.
Might be how they fit TMM, CHT and Metcalf in.
The young warriors forwards like Laban probably fill other role.
Interestingly Ford is second in the NRL for decoy runs, personally happy with that as it means he has had to catch lessAs for this weekend can SJ find a win, Feel for TMM who started slow but has played better than SJ this season
