The splash brothers are no more. Klay Thomson has been traded to Dallas

And Harden re-signs with the Clippers

And the Bulls can’t unload LaVine. Even throwing in a first round draft pick can’t get a deal done (yet).

One of the worst contracts in the league.

A sign and trade. Interesting that the Lakers offered a longer deal but he didn’t agree.

Longer deal more money? If the money per year was more, perhaps thats what led him to Dallas

@canefan Dallas deal is 3 year $50 mill. The Lakers offered 4 year $80 mill.

So Lakers was more money per year, but more drama no doubt and perhaps Klay didn’t want the whole division rivals thing.

Plus if I was a shooter I’d rather play with Luka and Kyrie than Lebron and AD. Look at all the open shots that guys like PJ Washington, Derrick Jones Jnr, Exum and Green got.

If he wants to contend, he's gone to the right place.

No state tax in Texas vs high state tax in Cali

@KiwiMurph the Warriors did offer him a 2 year $48 mill extension which would’ve been better even with the state tax difference.

I think there were a number of factors at play and it was more about how the organisation were approaching it. These things rarely work out well when breaking up a dynasty team - 6 Finals in 9 years and 4 Rings to boot. An amazing run.

How an NBA sixth man built a $600M empire

How an NBA sixth man built a $600M empire

Drafted by the Lakers in 1975, Junior Bridgeman spent four decades building a nine-figure, multinational empire. And now he's teaching NBA rookies, veterans and teams exactly how he did it.

Fascinating story about some guy I've never heard of

The US had a very good win against Serbia but the best part has been the wash up of Tatum not playing.

The +- numbers for Serbia when Joker was on and off the court was the most telling stat of the game.

Even with him on -26 without him.

Amazing how strong this USA team must be to leave Tatum on the bench for a DNP

Serbia are a big side so the rotation never really went down Tatum’s path.

I thought Kerr got the lineups pretty good last night.

White is such a good player to just have as a non-ego, play hard D, not worry about his own shot player. Jrue is the same but probably a bit more aggressive offensively.

KD was simply on fire. Hit some ridiculous shots too.

Two upsets in the women’s tonight - Nigeria bringing down the turnover prone Opals and Germany (in their first Olympics) defeating the Euro champs and medal favourites Belgium.

The Aussies played like they were rattled for most of that game. The Nigerian guards were superb.

The first half between Oz and Canada was excellent. Giddey, Daniels, Landale and Exum superb.

Second half the wheels fell off the Aussies. Poor rotations by Goorjan, bad use of timeouts when Canada were making a run, and Mills offering zilch.

    Massive game coming against Greece.

Mills was terrible - not just offering zilch, but his poor shot selection killed them.

How good was Landale though? Giddey was excellent too.

McVeigh had a good game against Spain too. Some of these NBL players are doing their best to look good while in the international shop window

If you haven’t seen the game, try and watch the highlights of the Japan vs France game. Was pretty good.
