    https://www.theroar.com.au/2024/06/28/raiwalui-says-tahs-a-success-in-waiting-opens-up-on-urgent-coach-search-and-locking-down-tupou/

“I don’t use the word upset or past glories, I don’t use past glories as a trump card,” Raiwalui said.

“I genuinely wouldn’t have taken the job if I didn’t think that the Waratahs are a success-in-waiting.

“I do think they have the bones, they have the pillars, they have the people in place to have success.

“There’s obviously things that we need to work on. We need to get the best staff in place, whether it be playing, whether it be off-field.

“We need to get the best players through the juniors, women, men; getting all our ducks in a row, so that we’ve got success on the field.”

@KiwiMurph Some good players signing with the Reds early so that they don't get stuck with the Tah's. The Reds are building a potent team for next season. Finalists, you heard it here first!

    https://www.theroar.com.au/2024/06/30/exclusive-wallabies-star-injured-schmidt-slims-squad-ahead-of-wales-opener-as-reds-duo-miss-out/

The Wallabies’ hopes of starting 2024 with a bang have been dealt a blow, with star centre Len Ikitau injured on the eve of their first Test of the season against Wales.

Less than 24 hours after Kurtley Beale’s shattering injury for Randwick in the Shute Shield on Saturday, The Roar can reveal Ikitau – the classy Brumbies outside centre – will miss the Wales opener with a hamstring injury. Joey Walton, 24, has been called up, The Roar understands.

    Awesome. Just awesome.

Watching our U20 getting fisted by Georgia for 58 minutes, I'm wondering if anything will be left to play for in 5 years

I never understood why he wasn't universally admired in Oz.

Schmidt was pretty clear that the captain for test 1 isn't necessarily the captain for the season. He has been pretty frank that is knowledge of the Aussie players from a leadership point of view is very little so far.

@KiwiMurph Joe is refreshingly honest. Just what we need.

Wright is a great shout for skipper. Absolutely hard nosed, take-no-shit player who will not back down. I don't know why "shock" is being used. Natural choice

@NTA agreed. Wallabies have struggled with on field leadership for a fair while so I can see the appeal of going with a natural captain.

Michael Hooper killed himself trying to drive those boys forward, and more often than not no one would or could go with him. It needs more than one bloke.

I liked Coleman but he got a shit hand with injuries.

I like McKellar too, and hope he has better fortune. Hopefully this settles a few nerves in terms of giving some Rebels a home

    https://www.theroar.com.au/2024/07/09/breaking-act-brumbies-rugby-australia-set-to-sign-partnership-agreement-in-significant-move-for-canberra-franchise/

The ACT Brumbies are set to experience one of the biggest shake-ups in their history, by signing a partnership agreement with Rugby Australia.

The Brumbies would become the second Australian Super Rugby outfit to link up with RA after the Waratahs handed over the keys at the start of the year.

The Brumbies board briefed key stakeholders in the Australian Capital Territory & Southern New South Wales Rugby Union on the club’s financial position and the deal put forward by the national body – a deal that will see RA take charge of the day-to-day business operations.
