Awesome stuff you see on the internet

Thanks MR, that was great-and I clicked around and found this: the highest parachute/sky dive ever, from 39.6km-shows it about minute 4 onwards....<br />

That rocket footage is very cool. Project Excelsior was mental. We had a thread on it a few years ago -the guy came very close to the speed of sound during the fall.<br />
<br />
Boards of Canada used some of the footage for one of their music videos:<br />

I'm always a mark for heavy metal hockey-fight mash-ups.<br />

<br />
It's hard enuff standing on skates, let alone dancing with a jersey pulled over your head and a flurry of fists a-flyin'.<br />

Thank Jeebuz for the internet, 'cos the impressionable TV stations mostly refuse to show 'em any more.<br />

YouTube’s First Video Uploaded Five Years Ago Today<br />
<br />
Although YouTube’s birthday is officially February 14, 2005, the first video was actually uploaded to the site exactly five years ago, on April 23, 2005.<br />
<br />
The video is titled “Me at the zoo.” It was shot by Yakov Lapitsky and it’s only 19 seconds long, showing one of YouTube's founders, Jawed Karim, at the San Diego Zoo.<br />
<br />
The video doesn’t look like much, but it sparked a revolution; by July 2006, more than 65,000 videos were uploaded to the site every day. In October that same year Google acquired YouTube for $1.65 billion — a reminder of how fast things move in the age of the Internet.<br />

It was after the All Blacks played the Springboks in 2007, TJ was interviewing All Blacks players down on the field and the guy in the background was just hilarious. He took photos, he nodded in agreement with the interview and he just generally ruined the shot. It was great and went on for about 10 minutes IIRC -

<br />
I was asking about the first video you posted... the other one was pretty self-explanatory <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/invision/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' /> -
Looks like he was giving his pass to the stadium - to someone outside the venue - so they could get in for free.<br />
Which people do all the time - what's funny here - is that it was someone they had on camera - and he was a very well known Kiwi Cricket player/administrator. -
the "very well known Kiwi Cricket player/administrator" was the punchline that I completely missed <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/invision/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' /> thanks for clearing that up...

Yeah, it says that the avclub article too. I just think it's awesome that anyone even contemplated making that movie. <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/invision/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

Not being familiar with this book I'll simply jump to my own stupid conclusions. It sounded like Stallone was trying to get his own Predator thing going.<br />
<br />
Im up for seeing him play some military type hunting some weird shit in the jungle. It doesn't need to be Rambo. Dutch and John Matrix were basically the same guy no reason why he can't just play Rambo with another name.<br />
<br />
Make this happen! Online petition please!!! -

I like this one, if you have a good speakers crank them up, especially the base on your sub woofer - damn would have loved to have seen one of the bad boys (the Saturn V's F-1 engines) being fired up
