@gt12 I genuinely don't know how much NPC should go on TV. Some regular structure would be nice
I like the idea of city's hosting rounds. Wellington hosts a round, two games at the stadium, three at Upper Hutt, two at Jerry Collins stadium. Auckland plays games at its facilities around the city. That way some form of broadcast can be managed

I think you are right that it would be better to have it at a set time, where people can hopefully (1) go to the clubroom to watch the professional rugby afterwards and (2) get home to watch the professional rugby.
For that reason, I reckon it needs to be local and very grassroots to really emphasize the club aspect and social impact. That's not to say that clubs can

The rumour going around in Australia is 16 rd comp starting a week earlier.
Which would mean 16 games in the regular season each team would play 6 teams twice.
A 6 team play off series top 2 have a week off 3 to 6 play to meet the top 2 teams in the semi Finals.
That format is the preferred option of the SR commission apparantly. -

@Chris so is that an 18 round regular season if you factor in 2 byes?
It would have to be to make it work, not locked in the preferred version so I hear probably will end up being tweaked maybe to 5 teams played twice to pull back the weeks they can fit in.
They are keen to start the comp a week earlier than normal. -
Predictably Australian rugby social media is packed with "we can't win so we have to leave" posts. Oh and of course "we got dudded by the biased kiwi ref".
Australian rugby fans (as a collective, not individuals) are such fucking cats. It's almost unaustralian to want to quit because it's too hard (I'm talking sport, not work).
Of course they are followed by fantasy posts about national club competitions. I assume populated by semi-pro players as it would be the only way to keep the lights on. Enjoy your Wallaby tours to Spain and Germany.
Good luck getting all the ex-pat kiwis propping up your club comps to switch to supporting Eastwood over the Blues too.

The byes aren't in addition to the forced bye.
With an 11 team league every team with have at least one bye every 11 weeks.

If you have more than an 11 week regular season you have to have multiple byes with an 11 team comp in order for teams to play the same number of games.

Not if they do home and away, as it should be. To actually make a decent length comp. Play through the internationals, they do it in NH, great leveler for the over powerful teams. Or pause, as I think the premiership did this year

and that's why I have a real gripe with the Rebels getting dissolved by moronic ARU, 1 step forwards - 2 steps back...
-
i thought there had been some very strong rumours going around that we would see the Jag's back if the rebels folded, i take it that was all hot air?
-
2026 was the rumour. The team has to be recreated

The Jaguares are unlikely to ever return to the competition, especially without South Africa involved. I think it's a pipe dream or, at best, a 'we're exploring all options' sort of scenario that will never unfold once any sort of conversations are had.
