On the WNBA, I’m an unashamed Clark fan and have been since I saw some highlights of her and Paige Bueckers were playing high school.
Yes she is getting the treatment more so than any other recent high profile rookies - but there has never been this much attention of a WNBA rookie, ever. When Plum came in after a big college career, the vets didn’t pull this stuff. Go back to Diana T and Candace Parker - nope none of this.
Clark is bringing huge attention to the game. The ticket sales at Indiana Fever games (home and away) are off the charts.
Jealousy manifested as 'regular' hazing of rookies. My ass.
She seems tough enough to shake it off.
I'm surprised that her teammates don't want to get involved though - there are rumours that she isn't the nicest to be around?
Should it matter? She appears to want to win and is ambitious. MJ was an A-hole by reputation, but his team mates would have stepped in

I don’t think it should, but I find it interesting that her teammates don’t seem keen on getting her back.

I read one article where some of the team insinuated that they instructed not to escalate. But there is no place for bush league fouls like that anymore, in either league. It's bad for business, the Bad Boys days are long gone

Well Clark lit it up today went for 30/8/6. Shot 7-13 from deep.

She, along with Brink and Reese (to a lesser degree) are really moving the needle for the WNBA. They should be grateful, doesn't mean they need to go easy on her

I think Clark would take just not being especially targeted....
Yup I agree. Reese would ask for the same

@canefan it doesn’t really matter what style you bring. Your fate as Lakers coach starts and ends with your ability to ‘manage’ Lebron.

Hurley is a college coach. I'm not sure his management style will translate to the Lakers. And LBJ

If Mavs can't find something at home they'll be lucky to win a game let alone make it a competitive series..
They look completely overmatched.
Celtics cruised to a win despite shooting poorly from 3.
I don't think Tatum is ever going to be the superstar player some thought he would be - his offensive game just isn't there. Good news for Celtics is it doesn't look like Celtics need him to be a superstar to win a title. He still contributed very well with assists and rebounds.

Sound like the ultimate team

@KiwiMurph wouldn’t be feeling too bad if I were the Mavs after game 2.
They were right there despite Luka turning the ball over like crazy, the team missing free throws and Kyrie not really firing. Mavs are not a high turnover team so that was definitely out of character. Kyrie is top 10 in 4th quarter scoring in the league, but didn’t get up to much.
They played pretty good D and scrambled extremely well on the Celts shooters.
Some home cooking will be welcomed and I think they’ll lift with the extra bit of rest in between games.

Well that's one way to look at it.
Another way to look at it is
- Celtics elite defense forced those turnovers
- Kyrie has lost his last 12 games in a row vs Boston
- Celtics missed a lot of open 3s and still cruised to a win
- There's the same amount of rest between game 2 and game 3 as there was between game 1 and game 2
- Celtics haven't lost an away game all playoffs so the chances of at least splitting the 2 games in Dallas seem very high.
-
i watched in interesting video the other day that the Celtics seem to be playing a defense that allows Luka to get his, and no one else to get anything.
-
No Tingus Pingus no problem as the Celtics go to 3-0 on teh back of Tatum scoring early, and Brown scoring late.
They are just too deep, no one player needs to go big for them to win. -
Celtics cruise to the title
Amazing the 12 months for Jaylen Brown. A year ago he was the scapegoat for the Celtics playoff failures. 12 months later he is the Finals MVP
What an effort by Brad Stevens as the Celtics GM. Genius moves to bring in the likes of Porzingis and Holliday whilst moving on from Smart etc
