The tournament will be played under law changes to reduce the prevalence of 'kick tennis', the lack of space, slow ball from caterpillar rucks, use of technology and set piece dead time.

Six trial laws will also be used during the tournament. These include a revised red card sanction process to promote consistency and simplicity. Automatic sanctions will apply with suspensions for set periods, with no mitigation, to be issued for red card sanctions for situations where a player has attempted to make a legal tackle.

@Bovidae good to see Logan Wallace come back in despite not playing in the Under 20 Rugby championship.

Who of the added group will likely start? Wallace will go close, he's been training with the Canes a lot this year and has probably packed down against Numia on many occasion.

Of those four, Tito-Harris is the most likely. Maybe on the wing although he can play in the midfield and at fullback. The starting front row was consistent across the 3 games in Aust so I wouldn't expect a change there. Cribb offers some versatility as he can play lock, 6 and 8. Williams gives you a third halfback (and wing).

@Bovidae That graphic has Trystan Cook in a 31 man squad but he is actually named in the non-travelling reserve list. Only 30 are travelling.

@Daffy-Jaffy Yes, when I saw his name in the graphic I deleted it from the non-travelling reserve list. I didn't bother to count the players. 🙂

@Bovidae I noticed it because I saw the Blues Media acknowledging their players and his name was missing.

Mosese Bason and Senio Sanele come into the New Zealand U20 squad for the World Rugby U20 Championship in Cape Town. They replace Kurene Luamanuvae and Malachi Wrampling due to injury.

Wrampling is a big loss. He can't have recovered from his knee injury.

I'll do a match thread for the NZ-Wales game.

    This is a cool photo.
