Didn’t realise Razor made the rules. The Blues can bring in a replacement for round robin play but not the playoffs.

@Machpants I find these articles from Rugby Pass quite funny. They were calling the Canes team arguably the best ever the other day. The Blues, Canes, Brumbies and Chiefs can all win it on their day atm. Best to write these articles once the season is done I would say. Blues defs in the top seat atm though.
Well it depends on the author, they all have different opinions. I very much rate Nick's analysis

@Canes4life see I can understand this rule for club footy, where some super rugby player comes back into their club team for a game or 2, but shouldnt be allowed to play the finals, but in this case, Super is the pinnacle of NZ rugby (outside International) it really makes little difference IMO, there is an argument it actually isnt fair on some of his own team mates that he leap frogs whoever has been holding the fort.
-
If Beauden comes back and somehow manages to play in finals footy that is going to leave a very foul taste in a lot of NZ fans mouths, more importantly his own team mates. Would be a terrible call from NZR to let something like that happen considering the Chiefs said they tried to do the same for Retallick earlier in the season and they got told no.

Also it's an example of the article content being better than the title someone gave it.

@taniwharugby that would be the worst part of it all. If he takes the spot of someone that has played all year then that would suck. The Blues don’t need Beauden, they are at the top for a reason and should back the players that have got them to this point. Infact, having Beauden in the mix all of a sudden could derail the Blues, especially if he reverts to kicking the ball away with almost every touch like he has done for the last five years.
To keep this in context I would be annoyed if the Canes brought Ardie in aswell. Imagine if he took the spot of Lakai or Iose who have done all the work this year, it would be bullshit.
Those players chose to play in Japan this year. They can sit in the stands and let the players who have been in NZ go to work.
-
@Canes4life he can play out rest comp, if selected if course,

Yeah The Roar is weird with that, you submit an article and the Click Bait Editor chooses the title, even with pros like Nick

@Duluth man if I was a player at the Blues and played all year and then was all of sudden replaced by Beauden, that would stink. I’d look to move franchise.
I would get it if they had a massive injury crisis, but they don’t. Quite poor from the Blues for even considering it tbh. Just my opinion though.

The writer would have more credibility if the article was written before a game had been played this season.
Not Nick Bishop's best work.
-
A little dramatic. No one has been replaced.
As for injuries, we had 4 genuine options to play 10 in the squad. Two are injured and one is returning from injury this week. Last week we had Evans covering ten.. he would be our 5th choice ten

Admit you're still sore he moved North...

I don't agree with your comment here
Zarn is injured. Perofeta is named to play but hasn't played since injury. Cashmore is injured.
I don't want Beauden to return to play this season for the Blues but I understand Blues enquiring. Afoa played for Crusaders last year late.

@antipodean not at all, I was at the time obviously but Beaudy is a little over-hyped these days. The media make it sound like he’s in the prime of his career, he’s isn’t, which is why he reverts to kicking the ball away all the time because he doesn’t have the speed to get him out of trouble like he used to.
I would laugh so hard if the Blues pushed to get him into the 23 and then he F’d it up for them in the final. He’s cracked under pressure a lot in recent years, so you’re more than welcome to him. I think it would just be a big middle finger to the rest of the teams in the comp.
