To save laundry costs we subsidised the players purchasing their own jerseys, with whatever numbers/ letters they wanted on the back.

What is two dickheads think they're Dan Carter and want #10?

Just two? They get what they ask for, it hasn't been a problem yet.

Ah right playing numbers stay the same. Confused by having "whatever numbers ... they wanted"

@antipodean i wash my teams jerseys, modern ones are dry over night and because theyre so much lighter its only two loads in our machine at home, getting too a laundry more trouble than its worth for me
so more than one player can be wearing the same number? we're not allowed, they dont have to be 1-15 but they can only be one of each
-
We've never been counselled on the playing numbers/ letters on the backs of jerseys. Either refs don't know/ care or it isn't actually a stipulation in the competition. I don't know.
-
@antipodean that would be handy, its made for some rag tag collections of jerseys as some go missing and we have to replace with ones from other sets just to keep unique numbers

We carry what remains of the previous set for the inevitable case of new guys, people who forgot/ lost their jersey etc. Thankfully, like most amateur cubs, our basic design doesn't change.
-
@antipodean no, basic design for us is the same...but i get a bit OCD with changes in sponsor or differences between manufacturers, especially for first grade...thats on me though
-
@Kiwiwomble rego fees not just a problem away little clubs like mine. Mosman are 6 Grades + Colts in first division
-
@NTA dont get me wrong, as mentioned above, definitely a mission getting everyone to pay, and i feel like a dick outing guys when theyre doing their warm up for a game....the judging looks from their team mates that have paid does help though
we allowed guys to pay week to week a couple of years back...ultimately people just forgot until i reminded them on friday night or sat morning...so the fines master added it too the fines list each week...that helped
-
one of our first grade picked up a head knock in preseason and given we've got good depth this year hes decided to knock it on the head (pun intended)...is keen to still be involved so have lined him up as 2nd grade manager. He hit me up last night about getting reimbursed for washing the jerseys...$12...dude i have seen you buy rounds of $16 pints before...almost gave him $12 just to avoid working out how to get him his money

Is he an accountant?
-
@NTA probably, hes a good guy...but typical in that hes been at the club for a few years...but when i suggested checking with some of the people on the committee...he didn't know them....on sat when someone asked him for water bottles...he hadn't thought about getting any....he just rocked up and played 1s and someone else arranged the bbq that paid for things and someone else filled the water bottle he expected to be there and someone else washed his jersey each week etc
he'll come right, hes just having a wake up call

@NTA get the w?
Seconds got up - big win 32-7 thanks in part to starting a couple of First Graders. Also our ex-Shute Shield guy who was a Renegades player before he went to Premier Rugby. Seriously good player and sizeable second row. We have him part-time as there is a scheme to dual-register Premier lowest Grade with Subbies Lowest Grade.
First Grade we had a rotating front row - me and the koro are over 40 mind, with his son and our captain moving through every position. Lost 33-36. Two of our newer Fijians were on a breakaway last play of the game but the pass was forward and that was time. If that ball was legal, we win.

@Kiwiwomble Probably not enough red.
