And that, I think, is the premier league decided.
Agree. City will not lose from here.
-
Yeah, it all looked so promising at half time against Utd!
Klopp’s time going out with a whimper.
Worst form at the worst time.
It does feel like the title race only has one team in it now.
City are ruthless at this time of year.
But they get an easy ride. Villa rest lots of players against them and get spanked. Play a full team at arsenal and win 2-0.
They never have any bad decisions against them.
None.
But get plenty in their favour. The Doku non penalty and the Palace non penalty just in the last 3 weeks. Those alone have probably given them 4 points while denying Liverpool 2 points in the process. (Of course they may have still have won at palace even if they were 2-0 down.
Of course, the top side always seems to get unconscious bias( like in the fergie years) but this is on another level entirely.
It’s very hard to compete with that across 38 games, because you feel as though you have to win every game just to keep up.
Look at today - 1 defeat and the title feels like it is gone.
No wonder Klopp is fucking off! 😂

@DaGrubster You sound like every paranoid football fan in the world! Agree that City got lucky with Villa's squad rotation but every fan seems convinced that their team get all the bad decisions and that other teams get favouritism.
-
Yeah, I know. Lots of fan’s thinks there are dark forces moving against their club!
In truth it only takes a few of those types of sliding doors moments to impact a season.
It is just unusual that they just never get those decisions go against them.
And I will leave it there. Don’t want to derail this thread!
-
@DaGrubster Agreed. I saw the FA Cup draw announced by a Newcastle journo on Twitter (Newcastle away to City) and lots of fans replying that the draw was rigged against them.
Bit early to call the title race over with just a 2 point gap and the Arse having a better goal difference. I know City don't generally drop points in April and May but they are looking much shakier at the back than previous seasons.
UCL first legs were all good games and none of them decided which should make for an exciting week. Hard to pick the final 4 without the away goals rule.
Congratulations to Bayer Leverkusen, winning their first ever title with 5 games to spare. They sold their best player (Moussa Diaby) and their biggest transfer in was Nathan Tella from Southampton.
-
We've picked up 23 points from 18 games against the top 10
Meanwhile we've dropped 10 points from 7 games against the bottom 4.
With our very Fulhamish form and games yet to come against City, Liverpool and Luton the title race and relegation battle are both still wide open....
-
The stats over this little four game disaster for Liverpool are terrible. The loss to Man U in the FA Cup, the loss to Atalanta in the Europa League, the draw to Man U and the loss to Palace in the league, four games and they are out of three competitions.
And in those four games they have
Averaged 66% of the ball
had 93 shots to 56
the telling stat, 29 shots on target to 28 (31% to 50%)
Been out-scored 6-9They have been loose and sloppy and it's all quietly gone to shit.

Well to be fair we all know that decisions more than often go to the big teams. 😉
Man U can also count themselves lucky after the weekend

Agree on Man city. They're favourites now but they don't feel quite as inevitable this season. I think there's still a couple of twists left, I think there will be more points dropped all round.
I was surprised that Leverkusen had never won a title, I was sure they had won one when Ballack was playing for them, but just series of heartberaks.
Ends Kingsley Coman's run - first time as a senior pro that he doesn't win the league title. Probably a fair few others at Bayern with similar streaks ending, but Coman managed his run across three different leagues!
-
What's even more remarkable about Alonso at Leverkusen is that he took over in October 2022 with them 2nd from last and took them to a Europa League spot. They are unbeaten all season in 2023/24 so far - League, Cup (final to be played) and Europa League (into the semis if West Ham can't get past them).
-
@bayimports I think Man U's penalty probably was a pen as Smith made a move towards the ball with his arm - undeserved though as United did nothing in the 2nd half. The overturned pen for Bournemouth just about correct as well if you go strictly from when contact was initiated. Unlucky for Bournemouth though, so much the better team.
Ten Hag lives in his own delusional world with his post match comments - he just complains about their bad luck and how they could be in the top 4 race - I reckon he is lucky they are as high as they are.
-
-
His time at Leverkausen is the only games he has managed in a top flight league. Less than 80 matches!
It’s astonishing and would have loved it if agreed to move to Liverpool next year.
He must know that Leverkausen will be picked apart in the off season with 3-4 of their best players sold. Everytime Bayern Munich get challenged they buy the best players from the challenging team.
Next year will be a tough year for him!
-
2 points isn't a lot this season IMO, I hope Arsenal bounce back, I hope Liverpool disappear without a trace.
I was at the Bayern Munich game on Saturday, picked a weird weekend to watch Bayern for the first time. One observation though, not having watched a lot of bundesliga before is just how slow the game is compared to the Premiership. Still, what a lovely afternoon, fan environment so much nicer than in England, much more akin to a rugby crowd relationship between the two sets of fans than a Premiership one. Entirely civilised being able to get Stein's served in your seat
-
I doubt they will disappear as badly as Chelsea have 😂😂
-
That was a big hit of nostalgia just there. Must be nearly 20 years since Dodge and I traded blows about Liverpool and Chelsea👍
-
Cole palmer is really making a name for himself this season. 2-0 to Chelsea against Everton 18 mins gone. Palmer 2 goals.
