If you haven't seen it, do yourself a favour and watch Jacko on Open Mike last night. It's TV gold.

It was brave of Sheahan to bring him on, given Jacko openly fucking despises him. And makes absolutely no secret of it during the "interview".

There are some great tweets about it floating around as well. Best one i saw was

"If Jacko doesn't shut up soon Collingwood will make him a board member"

Pretty clear demarcation between the top 8 and the also-rans this year. I don't recall a 3 win gap being the difference with five full rounds to go ever before. The Dees can go to 8 wins this afternoon but will still be 4 wins out of the 8, so even if they win every game from now on - highly unlikely - they'd still need to rely on St Kilda, Port and at least one top 8 team having worse runs home. So we're gone now barring a miracle finish to the season.

Demons are looking alright aye Shark? Should be pushing for the 8 next year i think.

That's an embarrassing loss for the Tigers, but at least they didn't ship 170+ points at home to a team not even in the 8. The Lions have to do something different, using the "youngest list" excuse every week is not acceptable.

I think only a side from the top 4 can win the flag now, and i think we are heading for a Sydney v Hawthorn GF

Richmonds recruitment policy during the compromised draft , has come back to bite them on the arse ,

the players they picked up just before that time , Dusty, Cotchin , Deledio , Rance and Riewoldt are all class,

They tried to finish the rebuild with the scraps left after GWS and Gold coast took the cream ,

under the normal draft , some of those first early picks that gold coast got would have gone to richmond , and they would be looking at a different list now,

they picked a bad time to bottom out ,

time to start again ?

Yeah we snuck in a late one to top the GC yesterday Mariner. First game in a while I've managed to see any of, too.

If we continue at the same rate of improvement then yeah, I'd love to think we'll be in the mix this time next year. Problem is, I don't know how much of an impact losing Roos will make, and if the maturing list will be enough to counter that and find further improvement.

North have conceded another premiership window has slammed shut (without ever really opening, clever that) and are not going to re-sign Harvey, Petrie, Dal Santo and Firrito next year.

Considering those guys are still among their best most weeks, that's a big (but probably necessary) call.

With one round to go and no hope of making the 8 (we would have to win by 25 goals and North to lose by about the same), I am over the moon with how the Saints season has gone. We play Brisbane so should finish on a high. The Roos have GWS so it is very possible that we finish on the same points if they get done. A few very big losses hurt our chances, but not many punters were picking us to finish 9th whilst we are still in that rebuilding phase. Most of the "experts" had us in the 11th-15th range.

Poop. From 2nd on percentage conceivably back to 5th. One loss potentially blowing our chances.

Thank. Fuck. Yesterday's hammering from the Saints brings down the curtain on a shit year for the Lions. Missing the spoon by .6% from a team with 12 players suspended is a disgrace. Yes yes, youngest list blah blah, we're shit. Our players lack skill and conditioning, our game plan is crap, and neither are getting any better. We gave up 131 points a game, that's fucking disgraceful.

And so Leppa, legend that he is, has been rightly sacked. Some will argue it's short sighted, i disagree. It's clear he had to go, as there were zero signs of progression, in fact most regressed this year. Brett Ratten the early favourite to replace him. Whoever comes in has a massive job ahead of him, we're lacking in many areas, on and off the field. I'll just be happy if we turn up next year and actually show some fight, we are very rarely in games.

The end of the regular season was pretty awesome. Hawthorn yesterday playing in a ripper of a game with Fucking Collingwood were going kick-for-kick between 3rd and 6th, eventually finishing 3rd through a scruffy behind. Swans on top, and get to play the Giants, which will be a ripper of a game. Geelong v Hawthorn will be fucking awesome as well.

In the bottom half of the 8 the Crows will hammer a finished North (Scott will be lucky to keep his job if North are serious), and you would imagine the improving Weagles will be too good for the Dogs, who are missing too many guys.

Did i read they now pause for a week? What kind of a stupid fucking idea is that?
