JJ let him have it on first take, did you see it?
In other news, the Warriors made some switches and now look like a basketball team, and Kerr apparently got an extension.
My Mavs are looking good enough to give us hope before they inevitably lose in the first or second round.
And the Joker continues to do Joker things.
I did mate, he’s on the money!
How about your Mavs - you saw Brunson this week I assume?

I did not, but I'm getting hopeful, which means I'm definitely getting set up for disappointment.

Oh, sorry man. Didn’t mean to get you excited…
He just confirmed that the Mavs rejected his ludicrously undervalued offer twice because Cuban is dumb/tight
“Not once but twice did Brunson and his camp go to the Mavericks looking to sign a four-year, $55 million deal, Brunson said. “
Brunson wanted to sign the four-year, $55 million extension with the Mavericks, but he ended up getting much, much more from the Knicks.
The guard signed a four-year, $104 million contract with New York in the 2022 free agency, with a player option for the final year of the agreement. The total value of the signing is just under double what the deal would have been in Dallas.

Must be time for an NBA hot take
Luka Doncic, for all his offensive skill, is not a player who can lead a team to success. His brand of basketball does nothing for his teammates, and he puts in absolutely zero effort at the defensive end. It might be possible to build a winning roster with Luka in it, but it would need very specific guys to do it, and your star is not raising anyones floor.

It took MJ a while to get it, maybe he will in future.

That's some shot.

Spurs got a rare win on the back of another absurd Wemby stat line.
Only about 15 games left in the regular season. Celtics are miles clear in the East, and it is hard to see anyone in that conference beating them in a series. It would be a monumental choke for them not to make the finals.
In the West it is still a shitfight. The Thunder just keep winning, and have first place at the moment. The T-wolves aren't dead yet, even without KAT. The Clippers are sliding now, and have been since the ASB. The Pelicans are being slept on, but they are quietly climbing the table.
Fuck knows who comes out of all that, it may just be match-up dependent. I still think it's the Nuggets. They have the best player, and they just seem to have a level that the others don't. I'll watch them sleep walk games for three quarters, and then roll over a team. -
Wemby is already in the top 20 players in the league

That's some shot.
Anyone who’s ever played a game of pickup ball will know that this was an impossible shot. Running cross court, left hand, borderline skyhook, over Joker, to win the game
Nothing but net
It was ludicrous, and I don’t think an exaggeration to say that nobody else in the league could have made that. Or even attempted it.
Simply outrageous

Boom goes the dynamite
-
and so we hit the last few games, finally. And not much is actually decided except which 10 teams are already planning holidays
East
Celtics first. Daylight 2nd. Bucks currently still 2nd, but with how flakey they are, can they hold on? Magic, Knicks, Cavs and Pacers all breathing down their necks, but may run out of runway.
Heat, Sixers, Bulls and Hawks will fight out the play inWest
Shitfights everywhere
Nuggets got themselves to 1st. But no way to rest as the T-wolves and the Thunder keep winning. Clippers and Mavs look like they will play each other in the first round again
The Lakers could actually get themselves out of the play-in as they just keep winning. Who the fuck say AD and LBJ staying this healthy? No one will want to play them.
Kings and Warriors the only ones you say will definitely be play-in.
The outcome of the West looks completely match-up driven more than anything. No clue who comes out of it. -
can someone else do something?
Wemby has 31 and 13, with 7 fucking blocks, and we are OT against an Embiid-less Sixers. -
@mariner4life a couple of bad turnovers by Wemby in the OT. But he had a very good game and was keeping them in it. Some poor team D on Maxey at times but he was doing his thing and was almost in video game mode.
Happy for Exum who made a huge 3 on the buzzer to send the game into OT against the Rockets.
Kyrie is on a heater. He’s playing some of the best ball of his career. It’s just not fair how good this guy is at finishing around the rim. And now him and Luka have a very very good supporting cast. Probably the deepest team in the league when all are fit (which they should be come the playoffs).
-
There's an awesome video from yesterday of Wemby hitting this ridiculous 3 where he takes a dribble and one step sideways to give himself like 6m of space, then drains from the corner, and the whole Sixers bench looking on with "WTF?" looks on their faces.
-
And so, the regular season Marathon comes to an end
East
Celtics have been resting for a month. Lol at the Bucks who fell to 3rd, with the Knicks creeping above them today.
Shit conference though. 36 wins needed to make the play-in. Only a monumental choke stops the Celtics winning a series against any of these teamsWest
OKC take 1st! Shai the MVP? And the post-season shitfight begins
Down in the play-ins you have the two best players of the last decade and a half. The Lakers being this healthy no one saw coming, and i am not sure any team wants to play them. Throw darts to pick who comes out of the play ins, and who wins any of the first round. I still think the Nuggets win, because Jokic, but i wouldn't put money on it. -
And, the most important bit.
The Spurs did not come last in the conference, and somehow ended up with 4 teams in the league finishing behind them.
Wemby should win DPY and RoY (but won't get that first one because reasons).Spurs administration are already building a bigger trophy cabinet for our next dynasty.
-
West play-ins done
Lakers just get over the Pels despite Zion's best efforts
The Warriors looked exactly like they have all year and wimper out to the Kings. Klay missed all 10 shots for 0 points. This is the end. Are the Warriors strong enough to trade out 2 if not 3 of their greatest ever?
