@Bovidae I’ve seen him play for Petone a couple times on the wing and he’s got plenty of gas. Almost Corey Toole sort of speed so hopefully you’re right and he gets a crack at first five. Sam Coles, Vernon Bason, Jack O’Brien and Tom Allen all trained with the Canes pre season so there seems to be plenty of talent in that side. Funaki also played for the French Under 20s side so it’s interesting that he’s in this side aswell.
I don't know who is Funaki but Patrick Tuifua played for France U20 this year after debuting for Hawke's Bay during the 2023 NPC. He is a big prospect.

@cgrant Patrick Tuifua played for France not Funaki. Tuifua is now playing for the Canes under 20s so not sure how it all works.
What is the go with this kid. Is there going to be some international tug of war over him?
-
@SouthernMann yeah not too sure. Pointless him being in the Canes Under 20s if he's heading off to France.
He's 19 years old, 1.91m and already 113kg so a massive unit. New Zealand should really do everything to keep a player like that.
@Stargazer will know about him but not sure if he's online these days.

In 2023
Hayze Nepia played Heartland for Poverty BayNicholas Muli played NPC for Counties Manukau
Semisi Tupou-Ta'elioa played NPC for Southland
Eben Claasen played Heartland for Whanganui.
Is Levi Hazelton any relation to Dennis Hazelton who propped for Waikato and Chiefs?

It could be his son as there are a couple of them playing for Hautapu.

I don't believe what I just saw. NZB were down 2 with 1 minute to go. NZB turn down a tough penalty shot and kicked it to the corner, only to turn the ball over. The Drua don't seem to realise the clock has run out, and end up turning the ball over. The NZB get a penalty kick in front and much closer with time well put, but the kicker hits the post. Talk about trying to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory
