In the 2024 Highlanders thread, the comment was made that Gilbert should be your preferred 12 - ahead of TUJ and potential signings such as Evans / Plummer etc. He's not that quality.

In the 2024 thread, the comment was made that Gilbert should be your preferred 12 - ahead of TUJ and potential signings such as Evans / Plummer etc. He's not that quality.
None of those players are at the Highlanders. He is the guy we have. Is still youngish and is learning the role.

I believe it was you who suggested that Gilbert should be selected ahead of TUJ.

The comment was made earlier in that thread (when PUJ was suggested as a signing) that the midfield would be:
12 Gilbert
13 PUJ
23 TUJfollowed by comments about why not an UJ midfield, followed by at least two comments suggesting that Gilbert should be your 12 above TUJ with PUJ in the team.
