What a fantastic Friday. I think this is the most medals we've ever won in a day?

On a side note, I find myself irritated by Bledisloe Cup articles/announcements. Piss off, the Olympics are on.

    I am really enjoying this!
Channel 7 in Oz always takes great delight after the first couple of days in showing Oz is 5th on the medal table and NZ is 31st.
So now they are 10th and we are 14th they no longer make the comparison.
And we've won more than half as many medals as them.

Now bring on the Bledisloe!!

A good thing we didn't win the Womens Sevens or we'd be right alongside them on the table. :)

Willis looked very comfortable in his semi - I'd love to see him throw caution to the winds and take off 400 metres from home and make the others chase him - though I guess he knows what he's doing.

edit: Snap, Sammy. Didn't see the interview - why's he tired, staying up too late on the computer?

He said he expected to have more legs coming into the last 250 metres.

Said he was lucky that others faded also.

Reminds me of London 4 years ago, where he faded at the end of all his races.... but I'm still holding out hope, despite his obvious personality flaws (well discussed on here) he's been an absolute legend for NZ athletics. Has helped a lot of young runners on their journey.

I think I'd say "questionable". Who knows - perhaps he's teamed up with a legendary shotput coach.

Be interesting to hear an explanation of that sort of rapid improvement.
