Hurricanes named to play Highlanders. Plenty of wider squad members in the mixer, usually the case for the first game of the year.

Cameron missed touch from a penalty kick. Too greedy

Nice move at the back of the lineout by the Highlanders. Got Tavatavanawai in some space

So many neck roll clean outs, crazy how that is now ignored after what it was like a few years ago

Brett Cameron has been a bit average so far.

The attack is very conventional. Pod, wrap around, wrap around pod. I guess they are just going through the basics, because there is nothing that the Landers can't deal with

James O’Reilly can’t bloody throw the ball in straight. My biggest pain watching rugby is when hookers can’t hit their marker.

Canes in. Sangster, Howden and Moorby have been solid for the Canes. O’Reilly, Cameron, Sinkinson and Filipo have been piss poor.

I always through Brett Cameron had a bigger boot. He’s hopeless.

Good start to the half by the Canes. Higgins with a good carry, and then the Canes dominated the scrum led by Mafileo and Tosi. Good to see.

    Canes warming into their work.

    17-12 to the Landers.
