Ok fellas, someone who watches League, is this joker any good? I smelling a load of crap if they think ABs are flashing a mill at him (unless it some rich dude in background)

I reckon he'll be better than RTS. Just start him on the wing until he familiarises himself with the game.

I'd like to see how he'd go in rugby. Even in his mediocre year as @mariner4life has pointed out he still averaged pretty decent run metres.

@Nepia I can't even see him having success on the wing. To be honest I don't know where he would actually suit. He would be better in a collision than RTS, I just dont think he wouldn't fit union.

He has a high work rate, big body, likes to be involved in everything, probably runs to upright for union, likes to tackle high (and get tackled high) ..which is great for league..

contract due for negotiation, probably about it

    That's more than 50% of what's needed ... 🙂

Four takeaways from each Cross-Border Super Rugby match

Four takeaways from each Cross-Border Super Rugby match

We've already learnt at least a couple of things about each team, their personnel and more specifically how deep their talent stocks are.

Why Sky has played the free rugby card now

Why Sky has played the free rugby card now

Rugby in New Zealand has no option but to recalibrate its broadcast strategy.

Long story short, the new group now running Sr for SR (not NZR and RA) have got Sky to agree to one game per week on Sky Open, which is great news - well done

Cheers, is it the game of the week (e..g, premier NZ derby?) or just any old game?

Sat night games. The games start live but will have ads each half.

@gt12 you'd hope so. Surely NZ derbies would take those slots.

    Brumbies 43 - 40 Drua

The Drua will be a fun watch this season -

I went along to this and it was a f'ing hot day. Which helps explain why I was muntered when I got home at 12:30.

For those that only watch the highlights, the Drua looked like they could play all facets competitively too - you just cant give them space. They'll be devastating on the counter attack too.

    https://www.stuff.co.nz/sport/350175727/super-rugby-closes-kick-tennis-loophole-reward-attack

Two clauses in rugby’s current offside laws state that players can be put onside by a kick receiver who runs back five metres or passes the ball, even if they are ahead of the kicker.

Super Rugby Pacific officials have effectively thrown those clauses in the bin, Stuff understands.
