Didn’t see this one coming - Bucks have fired Griffin. They have the second best record in the East but they don’t seem to want to play defence at times. Is that the coach or the fact that having both Dame and Middleton on the court at the same time exposes your defence….

I think it's both, plus Lopez ageing is a factor

They have scraped home against some shitty teams this year, really haven't been convincing

Sources: Bucks, Rivers in talks on coaching job

Sources: Bucks, Rivers in talks on coaching job

The Milwaukee Bucks have reached out to Doc Rivers and are engaging him in conversations about the franchise's head-coaching job, sources told ESPN on Tuesday.

Looks like they are talking to Rivers. I can understand the move, their team is in win now mode and sitting on their hands while they gently go into decline isn't going to endear them to Giannis

    Doc is a terrible coach

I don't agree with the choice. But I can see what they are trying to do

As always, Magic has the insight - best twitter game in the business

It ain't the coaches fault they're not playing D!

But the new coach will get them playing D!

    This.

It's been a very long time since 2008 with Garnett, Allen, Pierce, Rondo, Perk, & some nice role players like Posey, Brown, and Cassell.

I was reading that it was Giannis who pushed for the Griffin hire.

Doc has a 0.590 winning record (1097-763) in the regular season but his teams tank in the playoffs.

He is an appalling in-game coach. Apparently a decent player(ego)-manager.

I think Lopez has been pretty open about not been happy with Griffin also.

Doc isn’t the answer for coach.

On the player front they should push hard to get Caruso

Some dogs in that team that wanted to play defence….except the Truth 🙂

By and large Doc’s offensive systems have been found wanting.

Decent block / steal (stock?) on a 6'10 bloke...not quite enough though to prevent the brave Spurs from going down at home to the amazing 9-37 Wizards

The NBA is always a little weird at this point of the season, but this year it seems particularly drunk. We're sort of 50 games in, and 2 weeks from the All Star break. Most teams are going through the motions until the good ones step it up after AS weekend. But man it's weird out there.

Teams, even the good ones, are win-loss-win-loss. Weird teams are going on runs, the knicks losing the Lakers on Sunday broke a 9-game win streak. Right now the longest streak in the league belongs to the Cavs.
The Celtics still have the best record in the league, but lost to the Lakers who sat their two best players.
The Bucks fired their coach and got worse. The Cavs and the Knicks have themselves in the top 4 in the East, which will have a few ordinary teams play post-season
The West is a shitfight at the top, with nothing between the top 4, then a step down and another close group for the 5-10 sort of region.
The Pistons, Wizards, Spurs and Hornets fucking suck.

And the All Star selections prove once again what complete bullshit they are, and that anyone using AS selections as a barometer of greatness for a modern player are deluded.

And that's before you get to the game itself which will be a farce.

And the worst AS "selection" of all ? Doc for the East coaching job after 3 games back. What a slap in the face for the rest of the east coaches - they should have bent the rules to give it to Bickerstaff, the Cavs are on a 14-1 streak
