    Smith the opener dares quicks to bounce him with new ball

    Steve Smith says the world’s quickest bowlers will have to risk wasting their new ball if they want to pummel him with short-pitched bowling now that he’s an opening batsman.

    Green batting at 4 is a bit of a gamble from the Aussies. But his FC average is 46.77

    Also:

    Green is averaging 65.09 in 24 Sheffield Shield innings at No.4 and 66.03 in his last 38 Shield innings overall

    @MN5 poor Windies, must be a hard watch for their fans these days. We've certainly been there back in the days of Pocock opening etc.

    Yeah but we’ve had what I’d consider two hall of fame cricketers. At a guess I’d say they’ve maybe had 15-20 or so.

    The decline is SO fucken bad.

    Despite showing a bit of patience on a fairly benign-looking wicket, they're still 6 down for just over 100.

    Cummins should have batted - otherwise this might be a short game

    New bloke S Joseph - after a good debut with the bat - gets Smith with a ball that was never hitting the stumps.

    Well played that man. Good catch too

    If he retires right now I’d laud him as the best all rounder ever

    @MN5 Hasty!

    I'd like to see Kirk McKenzie get a bowl before I reach that conclusion.

    I haven't paid much attention recently, but I've previously heard of Brathwaite, Roach and Alzarri Joseph in this Windies team - maybe da Silva.

    If Clive Lloyd were dead he'd be turning in his grave!
