The Cycling boss gave Kennet a serve on national news for losing his motivation during the Elimination race - if Kennet wins a medal, it will be a bit awkward back at HQ...

Edit: apparently the Cycling judges/referees agreed with Kennet and have upgraded him to fifth place in the Sprint. -
Andy Murray shut him down as well apparently. Said Murray was the first person to win 2 golds, and Murray told him Serena and Venus Willams had 4 each. Inverdale really is a shitbag. -

Yeah - I saw both those things. Hopefully given Dylan some motivation!

He's won both of today's events, so far. Needs to do the trifecta in the points race.
-

Or they might feel that they gave him a motivating kick that he needed.
-

Is this "incandescent with rage" Inverdale? If so agree he's a waste of functioning kidneys . -

Looks like the women's hockey team will be playing Britain - they're 3-0 up on Spain, at present.

On the plus side, we're ranked 4th in the world and eliminated the 3rd ranked Aussies. Due to the Argies having a shocker of a tournament, No. 2 Argentina is playing No. 1 Netherlands in the fourth QF - so one of those two won't make it.

England is ranked 7 and surely constitute most of the British team. Germany is 9th.

Farking Brits though - they need to be tested for using performance enhancing cash!
-

With Burling and Tuke picking up the sixth. As I write this the Black Sticks power in another one to go up 4 - 1 over the Aussies.

Burling and Tuke are looking very good after nine races.

NZ 21

Germany 39

Australia 54

So - three races plus the medal race left.

Great thing for B&T is that their worst finish so far is a 7th, so if they have a shocker they can count the 7 - just don't want to have two shockers - especially not in the medal race - but a good day tomorrow and we could wrap it up before the medal race (presumably 20 is the worst you can score in that).

Conversely, the Germans have two 14ths and the Aussies two 13ths, so both are already counting one of those and much worse "insurance".
-

According to nzherald Meech just has to be within 5 places of the 3 boats behind him to medal. Unlikely to catch the guy in gold. Apparently.

was having a chat with a mate yesterday about Bolt, and given his start, I am sure he has had better starts....I wonder what his time would be, if they looked at his times over say 20m sections over the hundred, when he has surely had better starts, and used his best time in these 20m blocks over his career, what his time would be for a 'perfect' race? <9.5s surely?
