Not fussed about 6.

I'll take 3. Any more is a bonus.

Even 2 is pretty good.

Discounting LA (always an asterisk with the absence of the commies) prior to London the BEST we'd done was 3.

Sydney I think we had a grand total of 4 medals (Waddell and 3 bronze).

I would have loved Val to add another gold but she was beaten by the most amazing piece of sport.

The others were chances only. Not really out and out favourites.

Let's celebrate how good we're doing - whilst hoping for more.

Great start to the hockey. An infamous 2-0 scoreline, with a beauty of a goal of the 2nd penalty corner. Hopefully we can go on to victory.

With Burling and Tuke picking up the sixth. As I write this the Black Sticks power in another one to go up 4 - 1 over the Aussies.

Never count out the Aussies but I enjoyed the way we responded when they scored to make it 2-1. Keep the foot on the throat girls!

The hockey girls concede a goal to make it 4-2 but hold their nerve to win the game. They are guaranteed at least to finish no worse than their 4th in London. It must be extra sweet putting the old nemesis on ice

Am I looking right that Dylan Kennet is now first equal in the omnium?

Stuff is still saying eighth.

Forget that - they must have been updating after the flying lap - he's 4th with the points race to come. A pity he had a shocker in the elimination race - but 4th going into the points race - medal chance.

The Cycling boss gave Kennet a serve on national news for losing his motivation during the Elimination race - if Kennet wins a medal, it will be a bit awkward back at HQ...

Edit: apparently the Cycling judges/referees agreed with Kennet and have upgraded him to fifth place in the Sprint.

Andy Murray shut him down as well apparently. Said Murray was the first person to win 2 golds, and Murray told him Serena and Venus Willams had 4 each. Inverdale really is a shitbag.

Yeah - I saw both those things. Hopefully given Dylan some motivation!

He's won both of today's events, so far. Needs to do the trifecta in the points race.
