@Kiwiwomble Yeah possibly.

It's just you. He's been awesome. Only played 11 tests and is one of the first names on the teamsheet now.
Agreed - his defence and contact work was the biggest concern when he started at the Tahs as a 20yo.
He's one of our top 5 back three players now.

I’ll bow to your superior knowledge, he’s never worried me from a chiefs and Nz point of view though. and obviously my care factor is pretty low - he’s an Aussie, and a league player now. 😀

I think 12-18 months ago your assessment would have been a fair one but he really kicked on lately.

Rugby Australia is pleased with the interest surrounding the national coaching role, with a strong list of local and foreign candidates building. The Roar understands Australians Stephen Larkham, Dan McKellar and Andy Friend are all interested in the role, while foreigners Joe Schmidt and Ian Foster are also eyeing the role.

Reading in The Australian that Marky Mark has elected to take a pay cut to go to the NRL. Take with your own measure of healthy scepticism, but apparently he had an offer from a Japanese club for three years at a million a year and will lose $300,000 over two years from his RA offer to join the Roosters and not playing against the Lions. An opportunity he'll never get again.

It all reads very weird, TBH.
Firstly: idiot.
Secondly: if he's taking a pay cut for the NRL, what back room shit have the Chooks cooked up now?
Thirdly: it is probably also a measure of the shitfuckery RA landed themselves in with Crazy Eddie and The Hammer running the place into the deck.

@NTA I think it's imperative that the WBs move on from MM very quickly. Start selecting his replacement (so they can build up test experience) and perhaps re-jig their backline (make hard decisions re 1 or 2 positional switches) asap. The Lions tour is not the place to introduce newbies. If that means MM is relegated to training field tackle bag carrier and test bench player /occassional starter, so be it. He's a talented player, not yet a great.
I suppose the Tahs will use him a lot more. Otoh, I know some Tahs fans think Piestch is better and could add value to the WBs

News rumours that Lyin' Eddie Jone is soon to be announced as new Japanese coach, on the back of obviously only one interview
fucking SUPRISE
Full of shit is Mr Jones. -
@NTA yeah, i have to say, as bad as aussie performance was in the RWC, i dont think i would have sacked him, it was always going to be a tough ask given other results this year...RA seem convinced it should be an easy fix and not a long term project

Rumour going around Joe Schmidt is the new Australian coach.
Seems like a good bloke. Were I him, I'd want some pretty fucking een guarantees before taking the job.
Yep 100%
