The last Qtr of the Texans at Bengals game was wild. Interceptions, a big Bengals comeback to tie the game. Then one last Texans drive where a receiver breaks a tackle to give their back-up kicker a realistic chance to win. A chance he then took.

Hey Jets fans, how's that Nathaniel Hackett offence working out?

This Jets offence will be in text books. Every way you can stink it stinks. I'm not even sure what the biggest problem is because every problem can pretty convincing be explained by the issues caused by other problems. It's probably harder to be as bad as they are than it is to be middle of the pack.

Nah, it's the oc but it's also a QB who struggles with accuracy and moving through his progressions, it's a WR corp that struggles to hold catches, win contested catches or separate cleanly on routes, it's a TE group that aren't effective blockers or plus route runners, it's a OL that just doesn't have the players and injury has forced to constantly rotate so can't build chemistry, and a group that as a whole can't stop giving up a combination of stupid penalties at the worst possible time, it's a head coach that is insanely conservative and wants to win by going downfield 5 yards a play despite the offences inability to run more than three plays in a row without one of the aforementioned problems blowing up a drive by getting them stuck at 3-and-forever. An unimaginative OC that doesn't seem to be up to speed with current trends doesn't help either, but I'm not convinced anyone other than Shanahan and maybe McVay could do much more with this offence.

Coaching in the NFL is probably the most overrated aspect of the league. At any point in time there are maybe 2 or 3 coaches that make a difference (I'd go Shanahan, Tomlin, Harbor at the moment), a bunch of coaches that have basically no impact either way and then a couple who are actively harmful. McDaniels was one. Maybe Saleh/Hackett are in that category (hard to tell when there are other problems) but generally teams are too quick to blame coaches when they're pretty limited by the talent on the field.

Broncos win! missed two extra points, but kicked a last second field goal. A last second field goal he got to take twice because teh Bills had 12 on the field when he missed the first time.

And on the back of two huge penalties, neither of which were even controversial

Are the Bengals in trouble? 5-5 and bottom of their division. Burrow left the game today as well.

    IF he's fit, they're contenders. But he's missed 4 games I think - and they're struggling as a result.

Edit: and the Ravens are serious contenders. Dynamite defence and their offence can rip teams apart. Fun watch.

Burrow done for the year. Bengals season over, plus being investigated for potentially failing to declare the injury.

In theory that can result in loss of draft picks, in reality (assuming that the NFL finds against them) it's mostly likely to result in a fine.

15 straight TD-less quarters for the Jets

This could only happen to the Jets.

Attempt a hail mary on halftime.

Ball gets intercepted and returned 99 yards for a touchdown.

Great inside outside at the end

Even crazier when you realise the context - Dolphins were driving in the two minute drill at the end of the first half, Tua throws a pick six (jets miss extra point), comes back out throws another pick, leaving 2 seconds on the board. It went from comfortable 10-0, to 10-6 jets have momentum going into half, to 17-6 game is basically dead.

    Statement win by the 49ers.

    Destroyed Philly in Philly.

Eagles dominated the first quarter but then got smoked.

Deebo Samuel backed up his trash talk. What a game for him

Broncos lost a close one, just couldn't get it done at the death, great intercept by the Texans to just get it out of our receivers hands. Good game. We don't suck. We're not good, but we don't suck.

Now the AFC East fucking sucks
The Patriots lost what will probably be the worst game of the year. Shit stats, and a 6-0 scoreline
Oh look, the Jets didn't score a touchdown.
At least the Dolphins are fun to watch. Even if i can't stand their nerd coach for some reason.

Watch the highlights of the Colts' special teams getting two blocked punts (one fucked up the kicker and on another day could have been a flag)

I was about to make an old man Flacco joke until i realise he's not even 40. Frig i am getting old.

hey there is a sport where the regular season means even less than the NBA

Ladies and Gentlemen i give you college football, where teams play 13 games to decide who gets to join Alabama in the final 4. Win all your games? Fuck you, we decided they weren't good enough, so a team that lost gets in.

Florida State got fucked this year. Won out, but those games weren't good enough. And they lost their starting QB (ignoring they won their conference championship game without said QB).

The whole thing is a disgusting sham.

Of course it's rigged. They always want a SEC team in the playoffs.

Spare a thought for Georgia. They were undefeated and the no.1 seed until their loss to Alabama, and miss out too.

    @mariner4life it is collosally shit

the argument is that Florida State aren't as good without their QB. They're right - but the integrity of the competition is just shot. Seriously, what a incredible fuck you to fans - and players! Like, if your best QB goes down late, is that it? Why bother playing - just pull out and wait for the NFL.

Thankfully this is the last year before a 12 team playoff, that also sucks. Cynically I wonder if this controversy is deliberate so that the 12 team comp is welcomed.

Anything where you need a committee to decide who's in and who's out will be a shit show. The media will love it because it will drive discussion for a few weeks at least

they didn't use to even have playoffs! They just got ina room and said 'you win the comp'.

    Amazing.

The only thing in the decisionmaker's favour is that Alabama are better than Florida State right now. As in, you'd rather play FS than Bama.
But shit, the cost of that is making a mockery of championship games for conferences and the overall record for the year. And you gag on the SEC 😞
